FU to my neighbor! (Where have we seen this before?) - sweet angel - 10-16-2003

My new neighbors moved in a few months ago. Young couple, 2 kids, seemed nice enough, except for the fact that they bought the lot next to me (which I had intended to buy eventually so that I could put in an inground pool and cabana when I hit the lottery) and built a house.

They have a 2 car garage and driveway, yet she feels the need to park her work van in front of my house (straddling the property lines to be precise). She asked me initially if it would be a problem and I said no. Then I realized that with my boyfriend's work truck also in the street in front of the house, I can't see to back out of my driveway. I mentioned it to her and she said, "Oh yeah, we can't see either. As soon as I get the garage cleaned out, I'll park it in the driveway." And she did...for about a week.

I happened to see her today and asked her again -- POLITELY -- if she could park elsewhere and she sort of gave me an attitude. She doesn't think she can park IN FRONT OF HER HOUSE because then she'll be blocking 2 driveways across the street. Mind you, she has probably a good 50-75' in front of her house to park.

When I suggested that she park IN FRONT OF HER HOUSE between the two driveways, her response was, "But you still won't be able to see with HIS van there." I tried to explain that with one van or the other there, I can see. But with the TWO vans there, there's a HUGE blind spot.

She said she'd see what she could do, but I don't think I'll hold my breath on this one. She made a point of telling me that while they were having the house built she parked her van at her parent's house and a neighbor complained and was told that they could park anywhere they wanted to.

Any suggestions? Besides the obvious thing that the entire front of my house is starting to look like a car lot, I'm really concerned for the kids in the neighborhood if no one can see them!

When they decide to let 20 chickens run loose throughout the neighborhood clucking and crapping everywhere. I will feel sorry for you. Until then, I suggest hitting her crappy ass vans with your car or truck. If it's on your property. Woops I warned you I couldn't see.

We're thinking about hiring a neighborhood kid to fuck with it on Mischief Night.

Halloween is just around the corner. While you're at it burn down her house too.

I'm going through this too. Across the street, their son parks his POS 1978 Buick Rengency or something like that. He parks it in front of my house for 4 days!! Never moves it, even though there is plenty of room in front of his house!

I really make an effort and make sure both my cars are in the garage and very rarely parked in my driveway or on the street. If I wanted to look at a car in front of my house, I'd park my 1966 Porsche out there.

I'm thinking about letting the air our of his tires next time he parks there. Innocent, but enough of a hassle that he'll get the hint....

Oh, what's your problem?

Have you seen what your new governor does to cars parked out on the street?

There's really not a hell of a lot that you can do just because they don't park in front of THEIR house. While that's definitely a concern for me, I'm more afraid of hitting someone or having someone hit me.

And it really chaps my ass that she completely blows it off. Especially when she said that we'd still have a blind spot because of my boyfriend's truck...that's different...he LIVES in my house...she doesn't.

Fucking c-word.

What do you suppose her company would say if I called up and complained?

uncooked pasta and rice in the gas tank. no need to blow it up and bring obvious attention at the scene of the crime.
