Red Sox-Yankees off season battles
#1
First the Red Sox solidified their pitching staff with the man who dominated the Bronx Bombers in the 2001 World Series, Curt Schilling and now it looks like the Yankees are countering with hitting.

Sheffield to New York

Which team do you think is getting the better deal? On the surface I have to say Boston. They picked up another ace to compliment Pedro Martinez and strengthen their rotation while the Yankees went for yet another slugger. They already have a few of them on the team in Giambi, Matsui & Williams. What they really needed was a pitcher with the departure of Clemens.

Either team will lose to the Phillies in next year's Series.

Don't forget Pettite, he'll be an Astro soon enough.

As a Yankees fan, I think we're getting the short end of the stick on this one. I'd certainly take Schilling over Sheffield any day of the week. But the best part about it is no matter how many greats Boston signs, the Yanks still ALWAYS find a way to beat them.
