US chose to depend on that power supply. Passing the buck to choices they made, leaving power supply in others hands, in the Dept of Energy's choice, and our own fault. Pataki started that passing the buck shit yesterday...but it doesn't wash.

Attention all perverts - Picking up hitchikers is OK again. Take advantage while it lasts!
I bet you had a great time on that ride to L.I. How'd you pay him back?

Well I am having a GREAT time! Still stranded in NYC. When the power blew and I went to my friend's apt in Chelsea (8 blocks from work) and spent the night. It was so fun! We put candles all over, listened to the radio and played cards.
They still didn't have power today so I went to another friend's' on the upper west to shower and chill in A/C. Gonna keep hangin till the subways come back (so much for my Mets tix) maybe go to the park or free ballet at Lincoln Center.
Never forget - BLACKOUT '03!!!!

I spent 14 hours in Bronx Fire Communications. We had generator power till about 830 last night then regained Con Ed power. We at the FDNY were rockin and rollin all night long. Fires all over the place, Brooklyn got hammered, at least ten large fires and two second alarms, one of which was still going when I left work. The Bronx had at least five with one Second alarm, couple of people taking swan dives out their respective windows. Fun night. I just got my power back in Queens about an hour ago. It was a suicide squirrel, I'm convinced of it. A lightning strike, my ass. Or it was a team or them. Little fuckin squirrels with Green headbands screaming ALLAH AKBAR!!! In Squirrel talk as they threw themselves into the big transformers.
