hearing the game on NFL.com radio, the update is a broken leg for Michael Vick.
This is the story from NFL.com:

Oh man, that really sucks. Not that I'm a Falcons fan or a Vick fan either, but at least he was exciting to watch. Now, even when he comes back you know he won't be 100% and may be hesitant to do the things he is capable of when healthy.
Well, so much for the Falcons doing anything this year.

So, the Madden video game cover curse continues.
Every year that an athlete is featured on Maddens' game cover, something bad happens to either that player or his team in general...for real, seriously. No joke. check it out...

Okay, out of curiousity I just checked the past 3 years.
Madden 2001: Eddie George
Madden 2002: Daunte Culpepper
Madden 2003: Marshall Faulk
I know Culpepper had a shit 2nd year so that one fits and I know Marshall Faulk got hurt so that one fits too.
The Eddie George one though has me stumped. I don't recall him being hurt back then or his team being all that bad. What am I missing?

Actually, that was completely wrong. Madden 2001 was for the 2000 NFL season. So Eddie George really doesn't apply to it.
Oops!
