		I'm looking for concert tapes/CDs...

I went up to this flea market in Dutchess County(NY) yesterday, specifically looking for this guy who used to sell bootlegged shows. Over the years, I got bunch of old Metallica stuff(Monsters of Rock 88, and Castle Donnington 84) Some really old KISS Stuff(Paris 1980) etc. He wasn't there. Anyone know where I can find stuff like this?? Either online or otherwise?? Thanx in advance, yo!!

If you're looking to download bootlegged shows, by far the best site I've seen is Sharing The Groove. No lossy codecs allowed (MP3, this mens YOU), .shn and FLAC are the formats of choice so make sure you have the appropriate plug-ins and software, but DAMN, it will mostly likely be worth your while. You'll need BitTorrent software installed to be able to download, which means don't have to deal with busy servers or dwindling download bandwidth, and the more popular the show you want, the faster you get it. The downside is that shows only remain available for a few days to about a week at a time.

Inoculus, you're a newbie, so I am going to refrain from calling you a dick. Did you know that certain bands ALLOW people to tape their live shows?? Metallica at one time did. The Dead allowed it for years. So get off the legal high horse. I had a friend who owned a music store back in the day and he had a section complete with videos of shows and cds/audio tapes of stuff. He has since closed down, so I am looking for stuff like that in the NYC area.

I used to have a friend that worked at a deli. At least 2-3 times a week I would get a free turkey and cheese sandwich for lunch. It was a very, very good sandwich too. With tomato, green peppers, onion, and thousand island dressing. I have since lost touch with this friend, and now do not get free lunch at all.

As irrelevant as this story is, it is still more relevant than anything you could possibly post.

And in the future i'd appreciate it if you referred to me as The GREAT Inoculus.

Thank you.

You'll go far here, I'm sure.

Oh - by the way - another good place for you to check Jimmy is a thing called Furthernet. I'm not sure where to find it these days, but it's a file sharing program that trades only live shows, and only from bands that allow taping and sharing (does that make you feel better, Innoculous, you free sandwich eating legal eagle freak?). Good program - I've found tons of shows there.

Of course, there's always Media Services, which is a pay site, but the collection of albums is great and for some bands (Zeppilin, Floyd, Rolling Stones, Beatles in paticular) they have a lot of live bootlegged discs.
