Thanks, GMAN, can't ever get enough Dylan.
Though I don't have time to type it all out, here's part of one that's gotten to me lately,
"Ghost In This House"
I don't pick up the mail
I don't pick up the phone
I don"t answer the door
I'd just soon be alone
I don't keep this place up
I just keep the lights down
I don't live in these rooms
I just rattle around.
I'm just a ghost in this house
I'm just a shadow upon these walls
As quietly as a mouse
I haunt these halls
I'm just a whisper of smoke
I'm all that's left of two hearts on fire
That once burned out of control
You took my body and soul
I'm just a ghost in this house....
I don't know who wrote it, but it's performed by Alison Krauss. I prefer the live version on Alison Krauss and Union Station Live, which is an outstanding album, er, CD.

		Don Henley
Boy of Summer
Nobody on the road
Nobody on the beach
I feel it in the air
The summer's out of reach
Empty lake, empty streets
The sun goes down alone
I'm drivin' by your house
Though I know you're not at home
But I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
You got your hair combed back and your sunglasses on, baby
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone
I never will forget those nights
I wonder if it was a dream
Remember how you made me crazy?
Remember how I made you scream
Now I don't understand what happened to our love
But babe, I'm gonna get you back
I'm gonna show you what I'm made of
I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
I see you walkin' real slow and you're smilin' at everyone
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone
Out on the road today, I saw a DEADHEAD sticker on a Cadillac
A little voice Inside my head said, "Don't look back. You can never look back."
I thought I knew what love was
What did I know?
Those days are gone forever
I should just let them go but-
I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
You got that top pulled down and that radio on, baby
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone
I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
You got that hair slicked back and those Wayfarers on, baby
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

		How long is the night
Artist- Thursday
If we run far away do you think we will ever die?
We'll throw these books in the fire
Can you stop the train
Cause it some delay?
The change machine lied
And it's too late to scream
How long is the night?
It's never over
The ribbon was tied
But the card was never read
The ribbon was crimson
The color of the night
Can you see the handwriting on the walls
And on the autumn leaves that call
"What are we gonna do?"
The trees are giving up on us
The needle and the thread
Won't stitch us to the branch
And the night never ends
I will never sleep again
(I will never even close my eyes)
If the sun is on its way
Then we will never die
And we'll follow these tracks to the sight
Now the lungs collapse
And the air is getting thin
All breath expired
Is too late to heal?
How long is the night?
It's all I ever see anymore
But the day was so bright in the pictures
In the photo album that you gave me
It's all I have to live for
I'm falling down
And you're not here to break my fall
I shut my eyes when you're around
I hold my breath to kill the sound of your voice
I'm falling down.
And you're not here to break my fall

The codeseven cover of boys of summer is far better than the ataris one...too bad the rest of codeseven's stuff sucks.
as for a song...
Far
Really Here
I noticed it when I walked out
My small white world was closing down
I wondered, I would always wonder
Why I am always sober and everyone is loaded
and it gets old
Well I bow out now
I refuse
So what if I waver, I fall
I'll always I will always notice
Speak up when I'm called on
Everyone gets older
Oh well
I'm not really here

Everytime i hear "Have I Told You Lately" by Van Morrison or even "Carrickfergus" by Van Morrison w/ The Chieftains tends to bring a tear to my eyes while i down a pint or two of Guinness. Sometimes when i hear "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd i get that way.
