Generations are traditional 30 years, unless you're Hispanic, then they are 15 years. To get past 2 Generations, it must be over 60 years. Elvis qualifies, but the fucking Weeser and 10 year old shit cannot be called timeless. It's your generation (and mine) music.
Timeless music has to start SOMEWHERE. sheesh. Opeth is barely 15 years young and as far as I'm concerned, thier musical genius will be appreciated for quite some time.
Metallica has already survived one generation's worth of music as far as I'm concerned. When I saw them this summer, I saw parents bringing in their kids and these kids were digging it along side their headbangin' moms and dads.
Might I add that Metallica first unleashed itself 20 years ago, so by seeing 8 year kids digging it this past summer, it thereby cuts off your "generation = 30 years" rule down to a mere 20 years.
BTW, I stand by all the bands I've listed as groups that are or WILL BE considered as timeless. These particular bands may not be observed by a large segment of people but all the bands I've listed I feel WILL be remembered by many in the years to come.
You don't have to sell a million records to have one's music considered to be as "timeless".

It may be wrong but more importantly... It's funny... and nothing and I mean nothing is more important than the comedy!

I think Clapton would appreciate the humor in that.

I agree with Sweet.
Some lines just shouldn't be crossed for a mere joke.
