EMT killed in Arizona Wreck

Arizona EMT was killed Wednesday afternoon when the ambulance she was driving was involved in a collision with an 18-wheeler.

Tammy Mundell, 29, had been with Southwest Ambulance for two years. She was eight and a half months pregnant and is survived by her husband and five children, said ambulance company spokesman Josh Weiss. He said her family and co-workers are devastated, and described Mundell as a loving mother who was devoted to her family and loved her job.

Weiss said there were a total of four vehicles involved in the crash, and police are investigating the cause. "We were in the wrong place at the wrong time," Weiss said.

Another employee who was riding in the ambulance, paramedic Sandra Williams, is listed in critical but stable condition. The two were transporting a prison inmate and a corrections officer when the crash occurred, and all four were flown out from the accident scene, Weiss said.

He said Southwest Ambulance, a private ambulance provider based in Mesa, Arizona, is retiring the unit number of the ambulance, AP44, and they are placing black bands on the other ambulance numbers.

I'm finding out thru friends down there that this was her last shift before going on maternity leave, and apparently she felt she had to work just to keep the bills paid. I still ask the same question, WHAT THE FUCK WAS SHE DOING OUT ON THE STREET!!????!?!?!?!! There are so many other things she could have been doing...Just sad, ya know??
I'm not quite there yet
