Time to Get Serious-Army Report Details Iraqi Prisoner Abuse
#21
Regarding the caliber of person who joins America's Armed Forces, The Man is simply wrong.

Your statements would have been 100% dead on from 1975-1990, but in your ignorance you have successfully branded yourself as a jackass. First of all these people were reservists. That means they have regular jobs, requiring regular educations, and regular social skills to interact with others in the process.

These people have been called away from their families, their jobs, and the fun little country they lay their asses down to defend so you and I can have luxury of mouthing off at will. Military service is no longer a last resort, it's a pre-career option that helps pay for college and brings young people into the real world very quickly.

I guess when you're spending Saturday nights grabbing 2 hours of sleep in the sand after a long day of serving your country, rather than trolling for fat chicks at some frat party on daddy's dime that makes you an asshole.

These prisoner's have rights. It is the responsibility of their captors to ensure that those rights are upheld. They were not. Those who violated those rights need to be dealt with swiftly.

After the shit that these soldiers have gone through, watching the death, bombings, attacks, and other assorted bullshit during the course of their day......putting some asshole criminal in a dress, or a cheerleader pyramid, or even pointing at their junk, proved to be some form of escape from the horrible reality of it all. Doesn't make it right, but it sure as fuck makes it human.
