Yes it can if she has it enabled in her internet security to block ads. I just tried it and they are gone on my screen as well.

See how smaht I am? Yeah right. I wouldn't know where to find my security settings if I tried! I thought maybe it had to do with the PopSwatter I installed a couple weeks ago.
