FMQB article
Quote:While Stern's deal doesn't expire until the end of '05, Opie & Anthony are free to roam about the airwaves next Tuesday. Will it be XM or Sirius that signs them? Too hot for terrestrial, O&A have been in negotiations with both satellite companies -- but a deal with either has yet to be announced.
If this is true, looks like I'll never listen to the Opie and Anthony show ever again.

In other news to break today, Walter Mondale announced his candidacy for the Democratic Nomination for the President of the United States. Republican opponent Ronald Reagon had this to say.....

Sirius has weak financial backing, they can never support or promote the show like XM can.

if you listen to this clip though, it has a clip saying that they are coming to XM radio exclusively, but then they play the clip from cable guy "I'm just yanking your chain." Don't know who this guy is, but I hope he's right.

XM is worth $3.9 Billion and has 5 times the amount of subscribers as Sirius.
BUT, Sirius is worth $3.6 Billion......and currently has nothing to advertise, with the exception of NBA, NHL, and NFL games broadcast.
When it comes right down to it, despite the massive subscription difference they have same relative value.

I guess I'll have to keep my fingers crossed and hope that they end up at Sirius over XM.
I have a friend that works in Sirius who should at least be able to hook me up with a player.
But shit, fucking subscription fees...sucks monkeynutz.
*sigh*

who cares what the companies' respective stocks are worth? It doesn't mean they have any money.
XM has less than $400 million in cash and is losing over $300 million a year.
SIRI has $700 million in cash and is also losing over $300 million a year.
While their stocks might be worth billions, the companies only own a small fraction of that stock. XM owns like 10%
