if you are upset about tribute.wmv
i'd ask the somethingawful forums.

over there we make fun of anything and everything. as sick as it may sound.

i'll be honest with you, i laugh at that video. that's right i said it. I'm sick and tired of this 9/11 never forget, always remember bullshit. There is shit that happens all over the world that happens to be 10 times worse than 9/11. Yes it was a horrible day, but I fucking moved on with my life. If I laugh it tribute.wmv and the countless other funny photoshops that has been done, sue me. Its my way of coping.

I have to break it to you, the rest of the nation has moved on. They dont get scared shitless over fake ass orange alerts or put duct tape on their windows like jackasses.

I like this country, but I dont like whats going on in it. Go right ahead and call me an unamerican or a terrorist sympathizer. Go right ahead and blindly tell me to "love it or leave it" or suck saddam's cock (who by the way isnt responsible for 9-11 AT ALL if you didnt now that.). Call me a dirty fucking worthless liberal for all I care. (for starters I dont blindly follow any politcal party and name calling like that is just fucking childish.)

You dont have to be a put all that 9-11 american flag shit, FDNY hats and t-shirts or pointless bumper stickers saying "first Iraq and then france" to show that you love this place.

Good evening.

You bring up a good point. Laughter is a good way of coping. Laughing about the time I spent with the friends I lost before the 11th has helped me greatly. You're allowed to cope. You also have to understand that not since Pearl Harbor, Dec 7th, 1941, has America ever been attacked on such a scale before. We are not used to this sort of thing. So of course people are gonna be traumatized. Do I think people should move on?? Yes, but at the same time never forget why we are fighting. People today unfortunately have short attention spans and forget way too easily about important stuff.

Many people who don't live in the NYC area or weren't personally affected by the 11th have moved on, this is true. The media hypes up a lot of this Orange Alert stuff, and of course it is gonna scare stupid people. Especially those who live in cities that are known terror targets (NYC, DC, LA) I doubt Billy Bob in Podunk Kansas, population 135 is going to worry about a poison gas attack down at the Wal-Mart.

I'm not gonna call you names. I like this country very much as well. I like it much better than some of the other places I have been to in my life. You have that right not to like what is going on. A lot of this knee jerk paranoia is uncalled for. As for terror sympathizer just because you happen to disagree with certain political philosophies, nigga please. That's what you're supposed to do, disagree. That is what makes this country, for all of its other problems, great and better than most.

I have a more personal tie to all of this aside from the fact I work for FDNY. I am also a veteran. I wear my FDNY shirts cause they're cool. I wear my love for this country on my sleeve. We don't need to wave the flag day in and day out to show our love for America.

In summation, if you find it funny, fine. You're entitled. Those who escaped the towers with their lives(like my cousin) or those of us who lost friends(me) or had to be the last person someone spoke to before they were either crushed by debris or fell to their deaths(me again). May not find it so funny. I thought the First Iraq, next stop France was cute. Just know that there are a lot of people, on this board especially, who don't. Another reason to never forget is so that this doesn't happen again and that some big ass building in another city is taken down. And so that our children and beyond make sure it doesn't happen again.
