I know of posters out there that go on and post with thier lil selfish agenda to simply annoy others and such, they laugh at thier own posts...they laugh at how they are able to get a rise out of someone. (I guess those types of posters fall under the "whatever it takes to get A reaction, ANY reaction" poster, like Keyser pointed out)

The Battler (a subset of the Attention Whore poster, I guess). One who is happiest when sparring with someone in a thread..likes to then proclaim that they "won" the battle when in fact they simply have not. Or to prove that they were right about whatever issue being argued even though...they're simply wrong.


I guess there are MANY varieties..not just 3, 4 or 5.

everyone has a role, you can break posters into 3 major categories....

A) the intellectual type who simply enjoys discussing serious topics.

B) the person who posts just to get a reaction out of people.

like ying and yang, one needs the other in order for things to flow. you need someone who is prone to react for the posters who seek this result to be successful. you need dumb posters for others to point and laugh at them. you need posters who post things that cause people to react to get others to react. its the natural order of things.

take one out of the loop and the system breaks down. so if you're smart, stupid, or shocking, you're a good poster, cause ultimately you help keep the ball rolling.
