I don't mind that he's had HIV since 1992, I still remember the day I heard him announce it. I was playing EA Sports basketball on my sega genisis. I was heart broken at the time cause it meant the end of the magic-bird era of ball but with jordans emiergence in the game as the best finally and they won the championship in 91, it was gonna happen anyway.

It's true that Magic is not an exception, people have lived with the virus for many years and especially today, people have lived with it for up towards 20 years. The fact that magic has money doesn't hurt, the days of being so scared to ruin your image or being defined as a homosexual cause you have HIV are gone with the help of people like rock hudson & freddie mercury. They helped push the disease into americas foreground, Magic came along and proved that it wasn't just a gay mans disease.

What gets me now, over 10 years later and for a while I have been dumbfounded by this. The guy for many years now has been building theatres, restaurants, resorts, opening all types of businesses. The fucking guy is planning for a future... it's amazing. You gotta give him props though, many others would have given up in his place, he doesn't even think of it as a death sentence to him it's been a blessing actually.

I can just picture him at a business meeting using the HIV as a way to make someone feel bad.
