Yeah, but isn't that somewhat partly caused by their fabled London Underground shutting down around 1am?

Our subways, on the other hand, run 24-7. Granted, that early in the morning, you gotta wait for a while, but at least you know there will eventually be one to stumble your drunk ass onto.

Seriously, though, goddamn it, we are "The city that never <b>sleeps</b>"... so why the fucking early curfew? Or even the <i>threat</i> of early curfew for large establishments? The very idea of creating yet another license that places have to keep track of for constant renewal reeks of the city attempting to make such businesses feel inconvenienced enough to shut down of their own accord.

Either that, or screw up on one of the licenses, and give the city free rein to shut them down.
