Rangers played ok vs Flyers (good sometimes, awful and on their heels other times). The followed that up with a horrendous effort vs. Calgary.

The reason that Low must go is they have no concept of defense. Now Sather needs some responsibility when he fills roster with Ulanov Karpa & Berard, but Low has got to institute some kind of defensive system. Sending Ulanov off the roster was a start, but they can't keep giving up these crappy turnovers. Watching Gagne undress Berard was embarrasing. Back to back game they give opponents their first career hat tricks (I know Gagne and Iginla are talented players, but somehow they never got hat tricks before).

I'm getting to the point of shipping out anyone with trade value (except for players under 25)and try to build something. Make a secret deal with Richter to go after him again during the off season. Wind up out of playoffs and draft stud defenseman.

It'll never happen, but as I heard on ABC saturday (I think it was Bill Clement), even a 4 goal lead isn't safe for the NY Rangers.

The Rangers need a coach who knows how to motivate. Comming out flat against the Wild is not acceptable when you are in a tight playoff race.

I want Nedved traded ASAP. I also wouldnt mind seeing Dvorak go, depending on who we could get in return.

All the trade rumors Im hearing have high priced, high caliber fowards commin to NY. We dont need that. We need some defense, but I guess A good defensemen wont put as many people in the seats?

This team is very fustrating to watch. Hopefully they come out strong tomorrow night against the Hawks, cus if they dont, they will lose.

Forget about the Wild, How about coming out flat against the Devils? Or Not showing up at all against the Senators, or against the Flames either.

Low still must go, Hopefully the Rangers can hold on against Chicago tomorrow.

Every one of those trades you mentioned Raven, I dont like. So I hope not to see any of them.

Now on to tonight's game:

Sure they lost, but what can you do. You have to keep your head up high and know that the team gave it their all for 60 minutes of energetic and devoted hockey. They had their legs, they came to play from the start, and The Coach obviously had this team prepared to play as he has for most of the season. They just werent good enough on this night, but you have to applaud the effort and applaud Ron Low for having his team prepared to give a 60 minute effort.

-Ok take the opposite of everything I just said, and that's how I feel.

With the exception of the trades, I really dont like any of them.

Well I don't think the rangers showed up for any games since the break. So keep your head high in seach for a team that will bring you more then a loss.I believe that could be any team other then the Islanders or Rangers. So you all think I am going to say Flyers this Flyers that.I mean look at the blue jackets they work there ass of every sec or every game and they suck. That is a hockey team. Just something to think about.

FLYERS ROCK

I think the Rangers had like 3 or 4 scoring chances all game! That was pathetic. Trades need to be made, and made quickly.

I really would hate to see Theo go though, that guy plays with fire. Anyone see him drop the gloves last night? Great stuff. McCarthy seems to have forgotten his role, so good for Theo.

FB,
I was worried about you for a moment.

for about 30 minutes or so, I thought they were building something. They gave up a quick goal, but hung tough. Once again, they ended a first period by being considerably out-shot, and behind. Blackburn was keeping them in the game. Then Berard was made to look foolish, and now it's a 2 goal deficit. It went downhill quickly from there.

for chrissakes, move Kloucek to 1st pair, and let him get more time in. Is he their best defenseman? no, but at least he might improve. I get nausea watching their backliners.

There should be no players that include anyone like Novak or Mottau. they need to get guys with upside for a change. Whatever happened to Smrek? he looked good last year, and has dropped off the face of the earth.

I'd like to keep Fleury unless he brings back blue chippers. At least he shows some interest.

Nedved? shows just enough to be frustrating. I thought Kovalev was frustrating - at least away from here he has shown he can get it done.

What is Roger Neilson up to now ;)

Have you ever brought any substance to any one of your 442 posts? 99% of your posts are copied articles about Shit nobody cares about with stupid pictures that take up 10 times the amount of space allowed, and then when you do post in topics about Sports people actually care about. You post "Lets Go Rangers" or "Big win for the NYR". Wow, Thanks for enlightening us. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Anyway it was a big win tonight, not a great win. They still didnt play all that well, and got real lucky, but its about time they got the breaks for a change. Every time you look around breaks go against the Rangers, so Im not giving back anything. Hopefully Lindros will be man enough to go out on the ice on Wednesday and we can build on this. Heaven help Ron Low and this team if they give another shitty effort in the First Period on Wednesday and are down 2-0 before you blink your eye.

When the rangers scored with about 5 minutes left I knew Montreal would tie it right away. Then when Montreal scored it was like "so what else is new"? Mccarthy's goal was a shocker usually those weird carims go against the rangers. This win was big, we gotta win wednesday to keep the pressure on Montreal and New Jersey bec they still have games in hand on us.

I thought they played better than normal, especially on defense. Yeah, Gilmour embarrassed Nedved, and Montreal isn't an offensive powerhouse, but they didn't give up a 1st period goal, and they didn't take too many penalties.

Ron Low must have felt the pressure, bringing up Mottau & Fata, and waiving McKenna.

Let's see if they can follow this up with another good performance

11 MARCH 2002.

THE LATEST ON BURE.

FT. LAUDERDALE SUN-SENTINEL: Michael Russo reports "sources" are saying the Florida Panthers are shopping Pavel Bure to the New York Rangers, hoping for a return of "Petr Nedved or Michael York, Radek Dvorak and young defenseman Mike Mottau." Russo notes there may be substantiation to the New York Post's report yesterday of Bure being unhappy in Florida, noting he's rarely celebrated after scoring this season and was upset when nobody came to his defence when Tampa Bay Lightning players were running him in a recent game.

Spector's Note: While Nedved and Dvorak haven't played well this season compared to last, dealing for Bure could be a big gamble on Sather's part. The Rangers play a crappy defensive game, and it won't be enhanced by the one-dimensional "Russian Rocket".

Again from spectors:
I say -- Too much for Bure

It wont be enhanced by keeping Nedved and Dvorak either.

I look at it simply.

You keep York out of that deal, I do it.

You keep York in the deal, I say no thanks.

The New York Rangers, battling for their first playoff berth in five years, acquired left wing Martin Rucinsky and center Roman Lyashenko from the Dallas Stars on Tuesday for left wings Manny Malhotra and Barrett Heisten.

As long as we make the playoffs, thats all that matters.

And I have a feeling he will be alright come playoff time, especially if we play against your team.

I know Sather/Low weren't too thrilled with Malholtra, but I don't know why you trade a 21yr old to get Rucinsky for 2 months . (I'm assuming Heisten and Lyashenko are a wash.

Great they lose 3-1 and now Dvorak is out for the season. Not good.

I cant complain with the effort though tonight. i cant speak for the First 2 Periods, I only saw the 3rd, but they did play very hard, and were very underman'd. Its good to see Lindros tough it out with a freakin bruise. And whats with the god damn flu for York and Grosek. Get your asses on the ice already.

Now they couldnt ask for 2 tougher games this weekend. At New Jersey where they havent won a meaningful game in 6 years, and usually get romped. And then the Best Team in the league by far comes in on Sunday.

Its going to be a tight race.
