The show is dryer and older than Sandy Kane's twat. I don't like to speculate because I have seen too many bizarre, even retarded theories on here, and this is one of them. If I was one of the big shots in CBS/Infinity this is how I would breathe life back into the show? All out war between rival DJs. Nothing is stopping Stern and his butt buddy Mel Carmazin from hatching a plot to put him head to head with O & A. It would be promoted all over the place. Stern would be given fresh material that he desperately needs. I would let O & A go, and let them match up with Stern. They know his listeners will stick with him, and the battle will be for new listeners who read or hear about this war. The only hitch is why would CBS/Infinity give up their most promising talent? Because they have made major mistakes before and they do anything to kiss Douchebag's ass. Hey Anthony, would you like to make a deal on some Furbys for your girlfriends.  | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Sep. 00 | i am pretty sure that Imus was there b4 Stern was so that would explain that situation. and i was under the impression that Don and Mike would be broadcasting live from WNEW in NYC this week but we would still get the taped show and get O and A Worst of at its regular time 3-7. Thats how they have done it in the past at least. does anybody else remember O and A telling Ron and Fez that they wud like them to do O and A's time slot when O and A are away? I am going to guess that if D&M are 3-7 then worst of will be on from 7-11, hopefully, so we have something to listen to?? I also think that O&A going to mornings would make it so lots of us would not be able to listen, its harder so early in the morning. I guess we will all have to quit our jobs. Yeah, then we can shave our heads and all wear the same clothes. And then even move to a little farm together. And then go out and clobber people with spade shovels and make them do our bidding. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Those of you that say that leaving Infinity (yes, it's spelled with a Y... it's not a car) is the end of the world for O&A.... wake up. Have you ever heard of Clear Channel? Obviously not, or else you wouldn't think that Infinity is the ultimate in radio for syndication. If O&A leave WNEW, they'll probably get a sweet deal with instant syndication, and probably a Howard war timeslot, from CC. Why? Cause not only can they get the ratings, but they're the next best thing. Stern was the next best thing to knock out Imus, and the torch will be passed again.... just a matter of time. First, from Infinity's site (infinityradio.com): quote: 180 in 22 markets. Big, huh? Now from Clear Channel's site (clearchannel.com): quote: 1,170 stations. 47 of the top 50 markets. Umm, that's kinda... more. A lot more. A fucking shitload more, in fact (6.5 times more, exactly). In NYC, that's Q104.3, Z100, KTU, Lite-FM, and Jammin' 105. None of which are impressive, but neither was WNEW before Opie and Anthony were hired. Oh, and if you're curious as to Infinity stations in NYC, that would be CBS-FM, CBS-AM, WFAN, WINS, WNEW, and K-Rock. Realistically, folks.... Clear Channel rules New York. The whole country, for that matter. I'm kinda starting to think O&A would be downright stupid NOT to jump - especially since I've heard a tiny rumor that there may already be a Clear Channel deal on the table.
