Just when I feel I'm getting back into the swing of things emotionally, I always end up having a dream that fucks me up for days and I feel like I'm back to square one. I hate life.

They say that dreams mean something, but I think they do because they get in your head and you think about them way too much. WHat happened Jen, did you have another dream about Jon and his all male revue??

i totally believe that dreams have to do with your subconscious and unresolved issues in life. One dream i get sometimes (not last night though) is of an exboyfriend of mine that was killed, and that bugs me out for a day or so, because I guess I really loved him and I wasn't really able to grieve over the death of him.

What if you don't dream at all?
Is that a bad thing?

Everyone dreams. Usually several times a night. Just that a lot of people (like me) forget them as soon as they wake up.

When I dont smoke for a while, I remember my dreams as if they were real totally vivid and life like, and then when I start smoking again, I usually never remember them. Such is the life of a pot head.

Yeah but I don't remember any at all, I've never woke up in the middle of the night from a dream or been scared from one.

Not that I'm losing any sleep over it, all joking aside.

Just wondered.

i just hate when you dream about something that was once an important part of your life and it's not there anymore. Guess it's hard for me to let go of the past. I was a psychology major. Maybe if i went to a class or two, I'd be able to solve my problems. Or it could be that i'm just beyond help :)

Jenn, that's awful about what happened. I think dreams sometimes tell us what we're afraid to think about when we're awake. People can laugh, but I really think dreams reveal a lot about you and reflect what's going on in your life.

I'd also like to add a twist to this interesting thread. Jenn, are your dreams in color or black and white? I've dreamt in black and white, but mostly color and those are the ones that have the most substance that I remember when I wake up.

Anyone else?

Jenn, hope things are better...

The one last night was in color. I think all are for me.

Jen, I would say that if you are having those types of dreams it's probably becuase you loved this person very much. Inner most thoughts and feelings come out through dreams. So I've been told. It's sad to hear that though. Sleeping is supposed to be enjoyed.

Believe it or not Many people report dreaming in black and white or in limited color spectrums, but dreaming in color still is the norm. This question first became popular in the 1950s and 60s, when black and white TVs were introduced actually.

As far as dreams i read up a lot on the subject and interpretation of dreams it's actually a very fascinating subject.

I had lots of dreams of my moms b/f he was an abusive fuck and i had dreams where i tried to hit him and the punches wouldn't land and when i tried to run i couldn't. I was about 10 or 11 then later in life i started to read up on it cause of that.

The past few years i have been having some seriously fucked up dreams. It is mostly due to a book i am writing i been writing it for a couple years now and like my posts my dreams seriously fuck with me man, but they give me great ideas. lately though i have been falling asleep late to avoid remembering my dreams and most of the time it works but now i developed bad insomnia.

fuckin crazy mind man.

Dreams of death and dying are common, and almost always are symbols of change, growth, and transition. If you dream a friend dies, you may be noticing a change in your relationship with that person. Have you two lost touch? If you dream you die, it usually is a sign that you are growing and learning, and letting go of emotions from your past. Dreaming of relatives or friends who died is usually a coping skill for people who never got to say goodbye or who miss them. But control of dreams is very possible though.

there is a study that says dreams dont really mean anything. its just your brain cleaning up the unnecessary clutter from the day and organizing your memories.

It could be a bad thing if you do not dream. While you are dreaming, the brain is producing Serotonin (sp). An important chemical needed by the body for balance. Most anti-depressants trigger the body to produce the chemical and thus, be happier. Get it?

im pretty sure i dream in black and white. the funny thing is that although i may have conversations in my dream, it's more like a thought process - no words are actually spoken in my dreams. but sometimes i'll wake up hysterically laughing (and no, it's not because i'm sleeping with jon)

Dreaming is a very important part to the imagination process. It lets you experience things that you can't do in your regular life. Lets you go places you wouldn't be able to go in real life. The only problem with dreaming is that sometimes in morning after I'm done dreaming, my shorts are all sticky and my bed sheets are staind. Hmmm..........wonder why?

I had a dream where terrorists were chasing me, so I ducked in a bathroom. I broke out the window to jump out, and cut off my arms. I woke up sweating, unable to feel my arms. Scary shit.
