Given the recent attacks, there are several movies we won't be seeing for a while (I mean movies already made). Case in point, the weekend after the attack, TBS was going to play a '70's movie marathon. They advertised King Kong, but did not air it. Why? The big monkey climbs the WTC, destroys some helicopters against it, etc.

Was this a wrong move? NO WAY. But name other movies that we won't see for a while. You'll be amazed.

I'm thinking ID4. Evil Dead Ash is correct he climbs the towers in the '70's remake, he climbed the Empire State Building in the original.

Kong HAD a tail....her name was Jessica Lange.
This would have been in movies, but I thought the tie was more to the terrorist attacks.

i disagree with what hollywood is doing, you can't erase almost 30 years of history because of what happened. i think that they should continue to show these movies that for years entertained all of us. this is what the terrorists want, they hate the motion picture industry, and want it destroyed. i thought that we weren't going to give in to them, what happened?? erasing the toweres from movies is stupid, and should not be done. they were there, and i for one won't forget that, but taking them out of movies, or not showing movies in which they were distroyed, is foolish.

Ishtar wasn't that bad!!! Mafia was worse than Ishtar!!!

I also disagree with what Hollywood is doing. It's a tribute to the Centers and those who died to show them standing there. Does anyone think that people would be offended showing them?

Also movies and TV Shows with terrorists are being changed which is bothering me. For example, 24 whose first episode and series had an important plotline revolving around terrorists has to be entirely refilmed because of the WTC Attack. Terrorists exist. Don't deny their existence like you do the Trade Center's. We're so worried about making people feel good about themselves that we're losing some of our basic freedoms.

Can you actually believe that in Back to the Future last night, they let things like "son of a bitch" air (it's usually dubbed "son of a butthead" in Biff's case), but they muted the word TERRORISTS!!!

Context: Marty reading the letter he wrote to Doc about the future... "On the night that I go back in time, you will be shot by terrorists."

I've said it before- TERRORISTS EXIST!!!!! Don't try to block us from hearing the word terrorist. Stupid fucking Hollywood changing everything to make sure someone doesn't cry.

Reminds me of J Edgar hoovers tactics in dealing with the mafia his plan, simply ignore the fact they exist. He disavowed any knowlege nor even saying the word mob or mafia. That worked out great not only did it not destroy the mob they infact grew and prospered through the 30's. 40's, 50's and beyond.

As far as movies you won't be seeing for a while well fox was gonna air "Independence day" but they replaced it with mrs. doubtfire.

I assume you won't see movies like Dr Strangelove, Fail-safe, die hard, air force one (or most tom clancy films for that matter) etc etc movies dealing with the end of the world or any terrorism or disaster films like towering inferno.

I actually watched "The Siege" on dvd a few days ago. It was a decent movie when i first viewed it but much more closer to home as i viewed it a few days ago.

here's how i view it GS. What's more upsetting and 'worse' to see: terrorists getting their ass kicked by Arnie, seeing the WTC in a film or seeing the death and destruction and rubble on the news?

We can't just put the terrorists out of sight in media. They don't glamorize terrorism. We have a short attention span, we'll forget. Film consciousness IS our consciousness and if we put them out of sight, we'll put them out of mind.
