| Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01  | It was a very loose connection, but it was to illustrate that many people do risk their lives for things they believe in. Pearl risked his life by going to Pakistan, to do something he believed in, which was to report the story. There are protesters who go to places like Afghanistan to try to persuade its government to stop doing such terrible things. What about those people who were captured by the Taliban for teaching Christianity?? They went outside the normal means of chnage in order to do something the believed in. For a centruy, larger scale soprorations have made their money by puuting part of the wolrd in misery. Look at the connections between IBM and the Nazi Regime. In tersm of car, I do not own one. My location is close enough to the local amentities. My computer is a Dell. The computer market has not yet been drained down to a choice like Coke or Pepsi, so there is a variety of companies to choose from, and Dell's happen to be the best thus far. I am not a fan of large corporations that make it sem like their product is the only solution. It leads to the downfall of comptetive markets. And to incite a lil more discussion, more globalization encourages the use of oil around the world. More oil usage means more oil to the middle east. More monye to the middle east goes to the terrorist eventually. On top of that, oil is very polluting, and will run out soon. THere are just as many jobs in the coporate creation of a building-intergrated solar PV paneling company than in the oil business. Countries such as Holland and much of the European Union have long rejected oil and embraced clean technolgies.
