These are the reported WCW Superstars who have had their contracts purchased by the WWF in the WCW/WWF Sale:

Lance Storm

Sean O'Haire

Mike Awesome

Chuck Palumbo

Miss Hancock

Shane Helms

Shannon Moore

Mike Sanders

Hugh Morrus

Billy Kidman

Elix Skipper

Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Shawn Stasiak

Kaz Hayashi

Yang

Mark Jindrak
None of their contracts are guaranteed, so all will likely be renegotiated into WWF-style contracts within 90 days.

The Following Wrestlers are said to draw a great deal of interest from the WWF, but have guranteed deals. They will have to be bought out by Time-Warner before new WWF-style contracts are drawn up.

Ric Flair

Booker T

DDP

Goldberg
This does not mean that guys like Scott Steiner, Nash etc. will not be with the new promotions, they will just have to work out new contracts and that area is still a bit hazy. New contract terms should come out in the near future.

I heard that this monday on Nitro there will be some WWF interference with the show, like run-ins and stuff. Cant wait to see it.

Nevermind who's contracts the WWF have bought. Who would you actually like to see them pick up for their federation?
Even though they aren't great workers, I'd like to see Goldberg, Scott Steiner (w/ Midajah of course ;)), Kevin Nash, and Sting come over.

If the WWF has bought the WCW wouldn't they legally own the contracts of the wrestlers as well?? They would also have the right to either continue the contracts or buy the others out, right??

I dont have the answer for that one Kim but i do know that this monday on nitro there will be no wwf run-ins, with Wrestlemania one week away i would think that Vince wants all the ratings on Raw. I could very well be wrong as you all know anything can happen

Kim, the whole deal is, is that the wrestlers with smaller contracts and or shorter deals were bought out by the WWF from Aol/Time Warner. Some of the bigger names like, Nash, Goldberg, Steiner can sit out for the rest of their contracts. Get the money that is owed them and than can renogiate with the WWF or go to Japan or go to another line of work.

Aol is responsible for those salaries. I don't know if a deal can be worked out to get them in earlier. I did hear that Nash, probably Scott Steiner and it looks like Goldberg will wait out their contracts.

I know they have a right to get paid, but they are making big mistakes if they wait a year or 2 or more until their contracts end. Nash is a big waste now. Scott Steiner is supposed to be a huge problem. Goldberg thinks he is the biggest thing in wrestling. His star has fallen quite considerably.

First of all, you're missing some, because the WWF itself has reported that they acquired somewhere in the vicinity of two dozen wrestlers in the deal.

Storm and Awesome will be great if the Team Canada gimmick dies.

I'd love to be in the back room when Awesome meets back up with Heyman.

Kim, the WWF didn't want ALL of the contracts - cause in that case, they'd have to pay guys like Nash, Hogan, and Goldberg millions of dollars a year just for doing what they're doing now - sitting on their asses.

Marv - Vince will want the ratings on BOTH programs, but it'll be really interesting to see what he does about competing against himself. I'd expect any run-ins to occur in first hour. I'd say it's even MORE likely to see Flair appear as a WCW figurehead on Raw. Supposedly, Flair is going to be a big part of this whole thing.

TeenWeek - Goldberg could be huge again, if marketed properly. And proper marketing is one of the things that the WWF knows how to do best. Throw Goldberg up against Austin, Rock, HHH... well god damn, you've got yourself a party.

Remember how big goldberg was about a year and a half ago?? I think that he could be as big if not even bigger again, with a little booking and marketing. What WCW did to him was a crying shame, and He did get better, learned a few new moves, but he still should be a menacing force. I guess we shall see.

As far as the contracts go, the wrestlers are not employees of WCW, they are termed as independent contractors. That is how the promotion gets away with not supplying benefits and insurance. Each wrestler is his own business and the promotion contracts out each wrestler seperately. Now the WWF bought some of those contracts when they bought WCW but they only did that to secure the people they wanted. Vince did not have to buy any of the contracts and could have just bought the rights to the WCW and it's video library and then hired whatever wrestlers he wanted. All the guys they bought have 90 day lay over deals in their contracts so Vince bought the deals and in 90 days will renegotiate deals then. All the stars with guaranteed contracts have the option of either sitting out the rest of their contract or taking a buy out option form AOL/Turner at a reduced rate. Nash has stated that he would sit out, but I think others will take the deal, get some money and try to sign with the "new WCW". Any other questions?

Yeah, Nash is going to sit out, but isn't his contract almost up anyway? So, won't he only be sitting out for a few months?

The WWF should stop wasting their time and money signing the over-the-hill gang from WCW and pick up a couple of more guys from ECW. Tommy Dreamer, Rob Van Dam, and Nova are three I would pick up right off the bat. Although, it ain't like Vince will lose them to a competitor.

Yambag - Nash's contract is up in about 10 months.

Tequila - Nah bro, it's true. The WWF is not guaranteed to get all of the WCW wrestlers. They're buying out contracts, as stated. Some will go to WWFE, some will sit out till their contracts expire, then wonder what they're gonna do next.

As far as the ECW guys - I think Nova's in Japan, I've heard that RVD is doing Indie feds and Japan, and no idea about Dreamer.

It'd be nice to see a return of the Impact Players, though.
