That said, these Democrats that are quoted in the link provided are idiots. It just goes to prove they all have an agenda and as soon as it suits them to change stances, they do so without hesitation.

Is it that the Democrats are arguing now more that the WMDs never existed (which would clearly contradict each and every one of those quotes), or more along the lines of arguing the way in which the U.S. has gone into Iraq (after years of saying that we should go in), only to muck things up with a convoluted plan to oust Saddam and find the weaponry?

And you're absolutely right on the other point; even the most idealistic politician will find out that double-speak, contradiction, waffling and backpedaling work far better on Capitol Hill than simply speaking the truth on a consistent basis. And even when telling the truth, tell only bits and pieces of it and "classify" the rest.
