ok, ok, fine. so that line sucked.
Its just that Mayer was a benefactor of the acoustic folky trend that DMB opened up, hence that line. The minute I heard Mayers voice, I thought to myself "you can thank DMB for your record contract"
Plus, I once played with a guy, Nick Ciadella, who tried to sound like DMB as well...and I ended up quitting that band because in the end, he ended up being a scumbag who couldn't be trusted (among other reasons).
I guess I'm a bit jaded.
