Is it ever ok to cheat?
#24
Quote:Like racism, gender divides us...if we were to continue to evolve socially, we would eventually hit a point where women were truely EQUAL in ability of the physical man and man would be honed in to the certain psychological nuances (advantages) that women possess over men. (maturing at a younger age, \"maternal instincts\", etc...)
Here is where I disagreed with you most. Gender evolution is not divisive like racism. A black woman is capable of the same life experiences as a white woman, or an Asian woman, or Hispanic, etc. Racism is an ideal formed from (misguided) logic. Evolution is simply nature's way of determining what roles organisms will play in the continuation of their species.

Males of our species are built to: hunt, fight, procreate, die (pretty much in that order). It is why we are larger, more physically durable, tend to be considerably more reckless and have shorter lifespans.

Nearly every other animal society reflects the fact that the males and females have distinct roles to play. Granted, in some societies, males and females share child-rearing. But the only ones I can name offhand in which a single pair consisting of a male and female raise their offspring are birds (and then, only certain species). Even among our fellow primates, offspring are raised together in a community of the females-- males have no "fatherly" role aside from occasional play.

If you can name any other species of societal animal (meaning they tend to travel/live in packs or communities) in which a male and female "pair off" into a couple from which neither mate strays, you win teh cookie. I swear, the only ones I can think of are humans and certain species of solitary birds, and that's it-- and even then, cross humans off that list because occasionally, we do stray.
