Hey doesn't bother me any. I'm just the guy who got a job through nepotism. But nepotism only goes so far and thus I don't get any raises. Therefore, I am searching for a new job.
I didn't set out to work in this industry so I am just trying to get by and get some cash so I can feed my family. The industry I studied to enter into pays less than this one so I am looking into other possibilities. This is life and if the fact that I'd rather feed my kid then pay a couple hundred bucks for a program, that they could easily buy today and have it here by the end of the week instead of me waiting a month to get paid back, makes me a shitty cheap whiney ass then so be it. What do I care honestly.
Essentially they shelled out all this money to buy this thing so we didnt have to send documents to our main office to have them scanned in and sent back to us so it is up to them to get the necessary software to make the machine do what they want it to do. Not my problem.
Thanks to the people that gave me suggestions. Adobe free trial won't run because I'm still on win98. Maybe these new computers we are getting next week will have something higher. It is now 2 and I guess I should move on to doing other actual work instead of messing with this thing.

The IT guy told me to go out and buy it. I 'whined and moaned' to him and he said he would talk to the accounting department. Which was my next step anyway. Figuring he is formatting these new computers that we are getting next week I thought it would be easier for him to get it and put it on since that's his job and not mine. I am the unofficial IT guy in this office. I don't get paid for the work and aside from that I have to bill my time to clients and spending hours fiddling with new computers and other hardware or software eats into my time and my job performance is judge solely on how many hours I bill to clients. As far as I know the IT guys performance is not judged on this scale so he can afford the time it will cost him to go out and purchase and install this program that we are honestly only going to use a couple times a month anyway.
