because i read/heard it was from a few sources that it falls under the emo genre.
So because you/read heard that one band which agreeably sucks is emo, thus the whole non-existant genre apparently sucks?
No, I've heard a few other emo songs and I was unimpressed. you said name one band so I did. I have nothing against people who listen, it's just not my cup of tea so to speak.
Yea, but how can you say a whole genre sucks when you probably couldn't even define it? If you want to get into how the name "emo" started, it was given to hardcore bands that played slower and more emotional lyrics such as Embrace and Rites of Spring, then it became bastardized into the sterotype of whiney kids singing about getting dumped. Thus the whole genre has completely lost its meaning. All music is emotional, so how can you differentiate whether something is "emo" or not?

Emo started out as whiney punk music. Look where it's gone from there. Undecided
A) dashboard does NOT suck
B) you only know that its emo because its been discussed at length on the board
C) classification as emo these days means nothing, any new band that comes out gets emo attatched to it somehow, be it emo-core or screamo or whatever the fuck made-up word is used.
D) once again, dashboard rules.
:crackhead: I still don't understand what emo is but CLS got me into Dashboard :clueless:
since the weezer tour is going to have that 2nd stage, i hope to god home town hero plays the same time as dashboard. i can't sit through another one of those sets :crackhead:
Quote:I still don't understand what emo is but CLS got me into Dashboard
