too lazy

If you lived in Iraq you vote or you would be beheaded. One candidate, one vote, and you will vote for him or else.
I'll keep that in mind if I ever decide to move to Iraq.
thanks for sharing that. this isnt iraq.
Good, I'd hate to see you headless. :thumbs-up:
seriosuly though, i would only vote if I did my research and knew exactly where all the politicans stood. Being that I don't know who is running this year, it would be a waste. In my opinion, voting across party lines is being a zombie and not thinking for yourself.

Excellent point Hybrid. This is America. Your right to vote is envied in many places around the world. So go vote. You have what many in the world wish they had. So why waste it?

True, but then you should have at least made some effort to find out about some candidate.

In my district the vote is for Governor, Attorney General, comptroller, House representative, state assembly, and judges. You should at least know something about the bigger candidates - whether you are happy with what they've done or not. Are you happy? do you want change? these usually are simple enough questions. Maybe not for everyone, but at least one race.

Having said that I think that most people who vote choose stupidly; but that's the price we pay for a democracy.
I'd rather have 10% of the population make an informed choice, rather than 90% make an uninformed choice based on loyalty to a party. I'm not saying that's what you all are doing, but most people vote strictly for Republican or Democrat which is stupid.

yes, but I am lazy and unmotivated. Such is life.
i'm with sleeper i guess. i really have no idea what anyone is for, and i actually havent registered. i only turned 18 in august.

that may be the case, but they don't make you pass a test to vote, and many do vote party loyalty.

As I said, most people vote stupidly. Having said that, party loyalty wouldn't be terrible if candidates actually stood for what the party said, since then you could predict what a candidate is for (what they generally believe in) - but that isn't the case. I saw one candidate today who was on both the liberal line and the right to life party. While these may not necessarily seem to conflict, it did seem awfully strange to me.

This election system may suck, but it is better than the alternatives I've seen elsewhere.
Voted for the Libertarian's on the ballot. Three of them in total.

One Dem-ass judge that I know and the rest Repugnant's because Clinton and company are nothing more then liars and thieves.

Not that the Repugnat's are much better mind you. Still better then not VOTING!

You know you are letting the terrorist win when you don't vote?
not voting this year...i will vote when W is up for re-election, though
I think it's foolish to vote for somebody/something I know nothing about. And even more foolish to spend the time and energy to learn about them.

What exactly can a Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Treasurer, County Clerk, County Treasurer, District Court Judge, State Controller, etc.. do to make my life better? Can they find me a good apartment? Help me put together a nice gaming PC? Teach me how to burn PS2 games? Lower the price of DVD burners? Get me a raise at work? Lower my car insurance? Speed up my internet connection at no extra cost? Motivate me to do my laundry?

These are the things which are currently relevant in my life. Which is why today, for the most part, has no relevance to me.

That said, I did vote this year. For this and only this. Because it's the only thing on the ballot in the least bit relevant to me and to my life.
You live in Nevada???

Hell, yeah, Bloody Anus, you better get out and vote. And when it comes up in the ballot again in 1 (or is it 2) year(s) vote for it again. The rest of the country may eventually take Nevada's lead.

And most of the stuff you mentioned, like car insurance cost, housing, jobs, etc. at a local level, are greatly affected by who's in power.
i'm not allowed to vote :disappointed:

so, if one of you ny people who weren't going to vote could go vote for me, that would be cool :thumbs-up:
I am registered to vote...unfortunately it's in a state I no longer reside in, and 1000 miles is too frickin' long of a drive to get to the nearest voting booth. Undecided
There's no reason for it not to pass. Still, it wouldn't surprise me if it all gets ruined by hypocritical baby boomers and soccer moms.

I've had my fair share of car accidents, there are already a ton of good, relatively cheap apartments out here, and pretty much the only way to get a decent raise where I work is to be related to the owners. I don't see any of these things changing tomorrow, or even the next day.
I only vote when the opposing candidate is black or a woman.
