The Embarrassing Second Amendment

If you read through the whole thing there are footnotes which back up the legal reasoning. As well as support the true intent of the founding of this country.
any research that supports one side or another is going to be subjective, moron. just as the sites you mention are subjective. your sites arguments are using logic that are no longer meaningful as the government and populace that existed when the amendment was written no longer are the same creature and therefore the argument is irrelevant.
lets see, mad and the paranoid introverts = pro gun.

The following organizations have lent monetary, grassroots or some other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations. In many instances, these organizations lent their name in support of specific campaigns to pass anti-gun legislation such as the March 1995 HCI "Campaign to Protect Sane Gun Laws." Many of these organizations were listed as "Campaign Partners," for having pledged to fight any efforts to repeal the Brady Act and the Clinton "assault weapons" ban. All have officially endorsed anti-gun positions.

I'm sorry, I must have missed when you received your Phd in History.

The last link I posted is filled with all sorts of historically accurate information, see the footnotes for case history. Regardless of how you'd like to spin it, your beliefs have no basis in reality or history.

Last time I checked we are still living in a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy like you think.

I win.

i know its not a democracy. dont talk down your nose to me , you fucking nut job.

lots of footnotes are lovely and give the appearance of a well documented argument. however, when the basic foundation of the argument is incorrect then all of the footnotes in the world wont make it correct.

your beliefs are based on a society that existed in the 1700's. it no longer exists. your beliefs are misguided.

Mad is right and Arpi is wrong. Repeat as long as necessary.

The right to defend and protect yourself is one of the most natural of all rights.

Without that right, you might as well go live in Communist China, they're gun free paradise.

Fucking commie cocksucker.
johns hoplins and harvard and all of the organizations i listed previously agree with me.
links

paranoid loners agree with you.

you keep hiding behind the 2nd amendment. but its original purpose can in no way be applied to todays society. it is the fatal flaw that all of you gun nuts fall prey to. even when confronted with the truth you all run back to it and misuse it as a cloak of ignorance.
Just because you feel no need to get your hands dirty doesn't mean others don't.

The police are just for bagging and tagging. Legally if a cop fails to protect you, you have no legal recourse against him.

Please don't take my word on it, ask one yourself or research it with a lawyer.

And I'm not paranoid, just a realist. In the past twenty years I've seen and noticed a lot less freedom. You're blind if you can't see it too.
your paranoia and your belief that the government will eventually turn on us, that the all volunteer army will be used for tyrannical purposes, is so misguided as to be delusional. the idea that a few well armed militias in idaho and suburban gun nuts are going to keep the world safe for democracy is also delusional.
i don't believe they think they are trying to keep the world safe for democracy, they just want to protect what few freedoms they have left before those are taken away or controlled by others
with the guns they keep in thier basement in the suburbs? LOL!

talk about a misguided sense of self importance!
its not self importance, its self preservation.
if you say so. Rolleyes
no i don't say so, they say so. i think it's a little nutty myself, but i can see their side of it. you on the other hand disagree, roll your eyes, and believe that your way is the right way. i am not so self important as to believe that i know what is right for everyone
Quote:When the Bill of Rights was accepted by the States, no one could ever have imagined the Personal Computer and high capacity printers.

we must shoot the printers!!!!

leave the dot matrix printers be.
Quote: you on the other hand disagree, roll your eyes, and believe that your way is the right way.

no, i roll my eyes at the lunacy of the ignorance of the argument. i am more than open to an intelligent viewpoint that differs from mine. i just dont accept a viewpoint based on a false premise and the warping of constitutional ideals.
Here's a quote from the "father" of our country...

Quote:"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." -- (George Washington)

Granted, most people today lack proper shooting skills due to the constant attack on the Shooting Sports. The shrill and howl of the media, editorials and what not. The truth of the matter it is an Individual choice on how you wish to protect you and yours or not too.

Do we still have the right to our own opinions, or must they be cleared through the Department of Homeland Security too?

I'd bet that Arpi would be one of the first to rat out his family and friends to save himself from the showers.
again, you use a quote that was relevant 250 years ago.

he also advocated powdered wigs yet i am sure you dont wear one.
You're wrong as usual. Just because we have professional police force, doesn't mean that we ignore our duty as proactive citizens and the welfare of our communitys.

By disarming the people or by only having professionals do it, we are nothing but setting ourselves up for future collapse.

It's happening as we speak, every time a child fails to learn the very foundations of where we came from we have failed ourselves.

"Those who fail to remember history are doomed to repeat it."

Yes, I believe we are heading into a massive police state. You shall see, when GW gets reelected, there will be no stopping the onslaught attack on all of our Civil Rights.

I might be crazy, but I'm not insane.

i stand coreected. any chance of a pic in your perriwig?

not insane, just misguided.
