The Sleeper Wrote:this thread is amazing. all i did was say who i was gonna vote for and ask you do the same thing and i get the typical democratic talking points i've heard a million times before and some of you are under the presumption that you are the first to inform me of this and that it would affect me in any way. I'm voting in NY which kerry has locked up so whoever i vote for I might as well be voting for myself and it would make the same difference so you can take that theory away. As far as what he stands for, he's for withdrawal of troops in iraq within 6 months, he's against nafta, he's for universal healthcare, he's for gay marriage, he's against corporate greed, etc. but i suppose i should vote for who you want me to cause that would be the pinnacle of democracy.
what does he say will happen after this troop withdrawal? what does he expect our role to be in iraq after this withdrawal? why is his being against nafta something you like? against corporate greed? what does that mean? does he have any real plans to stop "corporate greed? will a decrease in corporate profits effect the economy and therefore the lower and middles classes?

you spout these positions like you understand what they mean and thier consequences.

in your attempt to be rebellious you have merely become just like the rest of the masses, uninformed and easily influenced by buzz words and slick phrases.
bullshit, if i said i was voting for kerry you wouldn't have said a peep, but since I'm voting for the guy you don't want me to, I'm uninformed
i am voting for Quentin Griffin for an all-star running back.. even though he is a rookie, i think he is showing alot of effort to be a feature back in the NFL.
Q will get injured and be replaced by Tatum Bell by week 6, if not sooner.
The Sleeper Wrote:yes but make sure to justify your vote to arpi first
dont get all defensive. you are the one giving your vote to someone whose positions you have no understanding of . i think its a disgrace that there are so many people who vote without having a clue as to what they are voting for. they hear the sound bites and the choreographed speechs and base their choice on those small pieces of information.
you want to vote for nader, great, but if you truly believed in nader then you should understand his positions and their intendent consequences.
you obviously dont and are therefore wasting your vote irregardless of who you give your vote.
thats why we are a representative republic, and not a democracy.
The Sleeper Wrote:bullshit, if i said i was voting for kerry you wouldn't have said a peep, but since I'm voting for the guy you don't want me to, I'm uninformed
i dont care who you vote for. i just think since you plan to vote for someone even though you really dont know anything about where he stands on the issues other than what you have read on his website, it shows incredible ignorance. you shouldnt give anyone your vote unless you understand his plan and how he intends to implement it, as well as the consequences.
you dont know any of those things so you are wasting your vote, whether it be for kerry, bush, or nader.

yes, yes, we have all seen it posted a hundred times already. thank you for sharing.

don't say that.. i have him..

how about voting for Darth Vader.. i know he can be a hard ass some times but i think he can turn this thing around..
The Sleeper Wrote:vote for michael badnarik
The only one who will take his Oath of Office seriously.

He's got my vote.

You can only know as much as the media tells you, unless you have some inside sources that you care to share. The difference is that Nader uses media to speak his mind, since he has no real stake in pandering to voters. It's Kerry and bush who use it to give soundbites and catch phrases that appeal to the masses. I've heard Nader debate several times, most recently on his NPR debate with Howard Dean. Is that not a legitimate source of info? Why is his web site not legitimate? where else should i look?
I would love a president who chocked the life out of people who made mistakes.
Tony Soprano is running for president?
we should be so lucky.
Black Lazerus Wrote:I would love a president who chocked the life out of people who made mistakes.
they would have to be heavy chocks.
I have decided to vote for bush just to piss arpi off.
arpi, who are you voting for and why?
For someone supports Kerry to be talking about how a Nader supporter doesn't understand "what he stands for" is just laughable. There is no rational reason why Kerry shouldn't be destroying Bush right now in every poll.

Kerry has done nothing. Kerry has said nothing. He has offered no plan for anything. He talks in vagueries (I totally just made that word up) about how Bush misled us into war, but also how he wants more funding to get more troops and better support and somehow build a global coalition. How he's magically going to save social security from it's unavoidable impending doom, as it is a ponzi scheme. He hasn't explained how he's going to pay down the debt, and also add trillioins of new spending to the government.

He is an atrocious candidate. You can't possibly say you support him for any other reason that "He's not George Bush". That's what Kerry's lead with, and that's all he's had to offer. The Bush detractors don't tout Kerry because of anything he's going to do, all they talk about is how evil the Bush administration is and how they're all borderline (if not actual) facsists who are intentionally destroying the country.

You mock Sleeper for not knowing where Nader stands on anything. At least Nader has taken a stand on something as wacky and insane as it may be.

Somehow it's possible, but Kerry is a weaker candidate than Gore. I can't believe I'm saying this, but he has no chance to win this impossible-to-lose election.
i completely agree with galt. cue up the lapdog comments.
if you agree with galt then why were you earlier telling me my vote is wasted
