actually, i answered your question quite clearly. as of now, i am not voting for anyone until they make thier position clearer. most time as the election nears is when they really start to solidify thier ideas. sorry if my unwillingness to make a snap call on a candidate based on thier partys propoganda makes you unhappy. i take my vote seriously, unlike sleeper, and choose to wait until i am completely satisfired with who i give it to.
and since nader doesn't have a chance to "clarify" his positions in the debates since ummm he wasn't invited, i guess i'll have to go on what i know about him, which is the debates I've already heard him speak in as well as the clearly defined positions he lays out on his web site. sorry that the candidate you might support is so nebulous that you have to wait for network campaign fodder to make your decision for you.
The Sleeper Wrote:I refuse to believe you know more about kerry than I do about nader based on your musings so far in this thread.
i know that you are wrong. but unless you can think of a way for us to debate it without you madly dashing about the internet lifting quotes from the nader site then i think we will have to learn to live with our mutual disbelief in each others political knowledge.
Nader doesn't stand a chance. I voted for him last time which in return was like voting for Bush, because it took away a vote for Gore. I don't like Gore or would have had the election gone any other way but this year I'm voting for Kerry because it's not Bush. I watched the RNC and that made helped me make the decision that I hate republicans. Plain and simple.

it is not all i am waiting for but it will help. for you to call kerry nebulous based on the generalized posturing that nader has done is laughable.

that depends on whether you would've voted for gore if nader wasn't on the ballot. also gore won NY in a landslide so it didn't take any electoral votes away from him.

they arent really republicans. they support very few of the original ideas of the republican party. small government, fiscal responsibilty.

They're the Republicans now.

Durrrrrrrr...
plus they mostly had moderates speak. The kookiest speaker was a democrat.
Being a Republican certainly has changed from it's original formation. Now, it's just a bunch of rich, gun toting assholes. Their name has truly lost its meaning

which platforms and takes on issues do you require clarity on?
he hasnt fully explained how he is going to cut taxes for the middle and lower classes while also working on the deficit. his repeal of the bush tax cuts isnt the whole answer. i would also like to know what he plans to do about iran and north korea. there a few other small issues.
Quote: i support kerry because i think he has the best chance to beat bush, but i will not be voting for him. your assumption that i will vote for kerry is incorrect

Quote:so you are casting a vote for a candidate, not cause you want him to win but as a protest against a different candidate. genius.

there should be an iq and civics requirement to vote."

Quote:i support kerry because he has the best chance to beat him and couldnt possibly be worse.. i will not vote for kerry though until he clarifies his positions.

You can see how drawing the distinction of "voting for" and "supporting" seems a little odd. Other than voting, how do you go about "supporting" anyone? Are you just sitting wringing your hands and hoping and praying that he does good?

Or are you schitzo?
This is better than any debate between the candidates.
I'd prefer a duel between Bush and Kerry with AK-47's.
you would
i'm too am voting for kerry because he's not george bush.
ditto
I'm not voting for Kerry because I'm not voting
I'm gonna write in a vote for myself.
