Quote:But, if I ever did, I would probably do something small under a full moon in the summer time, but, I'm wierd like that.
Thought that would be cool! The colors would be red, white, and black, lots of candles, at Midnight.

Spit, do you know anyone in Mantoloking that might have "private" beach access? Or someone who knows someone? I don't know if that would help with an alcohol permit, but it might. I was thinking maybe Sandy Hook or Island Beach, or maybe Cape May County. I wouldn't even know where to begin to look for get info about it...just throwing the idea out there. I still like the idea of a beach wedding and then a backyard clambake.
Good luck to ya!

the beach wedding seems like a really cool idea. Have u tried looking down south a little more for the permits you need? like maybe virginia beaches or the carolinas? and then maybe u could also honeymoon in the same general location?
congrats and good luck!

If you looked around, I'm sure you'd find the proper people to bribe for that permit. {  }

You should look into a hotel that has a private beach and see if you could have it there. Everyone would be responsible for paying for their own room and you could have a small reception. I don't know if they would let you use the beach for that though. Congrats!
Oh no we took it back to far

my friend Melanie just got married on Vegas over the weekend. Pink caddilac picked em up from the hotel and drove em to the chapel. They had a preist dressed as Elvis do the ceremony. She wore a white jumpsuit with a rhinestone belt. Shit looked like it was fun to me. Only few family members and really close friends were invited. Sounds like a fun idea to me Spitfire

I wanted to have a drummer playing rim shots when my wife and I took our vows. She didn't go for it.

spit, i have been married for a little over 4 years. i really must tell you that gmann brings up a great point. i'm married and did the traditional wedding bullshit and i've been to vegas and have seen the goofy wedding chapels there on the strip. after going through the torture of dealing with my family during the time i got married i wish that we had gone to vegas and tied the knot there, at least we would have had fun!!! do whatever you want to do for your wedding but keep vegas in mind......you're guaranteed a good time there.

You want something different and free spirited? How about getting married in the woods?
Rent a huge campsite in Penn or Virginia or someplace like that. Give the guests the option of camping, renting an RV, or staying at a hotel nearby and hiking to the site that day.
Then, get married on a high hilltop overlooking some really nice scenic view.
Perfect hippy wedding.

oooh! Dent that sounds pretty...my friends are getting married somewhere up in New Hampshire at the Chapel of the Pines, that would be so pretty...I'm checking at places in the Allegheny's right now...
If I win the Big Game, it'll have to be at the Red Rock Canyon in AZ
do you think Papa Squat would find time to play at my wedding? :roflmao:

Good luck with the planning Spit. If you're having an outdoor wedding, one really cool thing you can do (I think) is release butterflies as part of your ceremony. There's a couple of places that can set it up..you'll probably find them in those bridal magazines. Also, if you want some no bullshit information, without the million confusing checklists, there's a book called The Anti-Bride, that is all about planning a non-traditional wedding. The most important thing though, is to make it for you guys, and not let anyone else take over and turn it into something you don't want. Good luck

Whatever you do Spit, do what YOU want to do.... Have the wedding YOU want and do not compromise so Aunt Tillie can where her beehive up-do.

I've been contemplating this decision myself. Down here, weddings on the beach are nearly a non-event because they happen so often. I love traditional.. with tuxedos and gowns. Heck, it's one day out of your life.. get dressed up
