the age rule is good too.
consider opting for paper boys rules but for every ten years closest to 100 years of age you lose a point.

for instance:

if your #1 pick dies you get 10 pts.
if he's 90 you lose 9 pts kncoking you 1 pt.
if he's 80 you lose 8 pts knocking you 2 pts.
if he's 20 you lose 2 pts knocking you 8 pts.

etc, etc. otherwise everyone's going to have a Dick Clark for their #1 pick.

i think we should go the other way, say if you pick someone under 30 you get 5 bonus points, 35 you get 4, 40 you get 3, 45 - 2 and under 50 1 point or something like that.
