Quote:what's the deal with transferring numbers? can I keep my current number and go to a new provider? or, am I gonna need to call everyone and tell them the new one?
I'm pretty sure that phone numbers are assigned to providers, and if you change you can't keep the number.

T-mobile was voicestream - when Deutsche Telekom took them over, they changed name.
They might have been vodaphone at one time also.

There used to be some website that compared coverages, but I can no longer find it....

Cool, thanks for the info.

I just noticed today while perusing the rate plans that T-mobile doesn't include national long distance in their standard family plan. WTF? So, my "local" calling area would be limited to my area code? That fukkin' blows.

I don't know nothing about no stinkin family plan...but i do get 1000 minutes for $40 per month...long distance included...weekends are free...i think the family plan you have to share minutes with tmobile...but i can't be sure about that
