Very few though, would know how to plan an escape route and elude a police drag net.

He's not planning escape routes. He's just parking far away and driving away casually. And they don't really have to elude anyone. They have no clue who it is. And now that everyone's looking for a white box truck, he's probably driving a station wagon or something.
