just a point on Turkey...
the U.S. has used Turkish bases and ports for the military since the days of the Cuban Missile crisis. Human rights records or not, they are pretty much the most moderate Muslim nation in that region, and one of the best friends for the U.S.
as for Israel, as I see it, There won't be peace in our lifetimes, and probably not in our children's lifetimes. there are too many people with blind hatred for each other on both sides of the issue for any peaceful solution to be practically put into place. and the US will not stop helping Israel anytime in the near future. It just won't happen.
