Religion has been used as an excuse for greed, land grabbing and power.

isn't that what almost every war is started over?

That's what I'm saying.
In the last few centuries religion has received the blame for many wars when in fact, religion was merely a motivational tool by leaders whose real interests had nothing to do with religion.

When religion becomes a problem is when people like Hitler use it to vilanize a race or Islamo facists use it to support suicide bombings.
