QOTSA - Songs For The Deaf is my pick for album of the year. i must have listened to it over 1000 times this year. great, great album, tons of replay value.

I really enjoyed all the albums nominated, though I have not heard the new Sonic Youth album yet...

not sure if these came out this year but these are also some of my favorites of 2002
