One thing that's kind of scary about so many people not knowing how to drive stick is...
What if there was an emergency and you were the only one who could drive for help and the only car available was a stick?

Actually, you would burn up the clutch, which can render the vehicle motionless. Then what?

I got my license just before my 17th birthday. Never owned a car, never really wanted to. Cars suck.

I got my driver's lisence when I was 21.
The farthest I've ever driven was from Virginia to NY.
The fastest I've ever driven was about 100 mph on interstate 84 in, believe it or not, a Toyota Celica GT.
The biggest thing I've driven is the Lexus LX470. (my current vehicle)
I learned how to drive a stick in a Nissan 300z....also learned how to burn rubber in that sucker, too.
Cars I've owned:
- 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees
- Nissan 300z
- Toyota Supra
- Lexus SC400
- Toyota Celica GT
- Mazda 929
- Toyota Camry
- Plymouth Horizon (first car)
- Lexus RX 300 (Lease is up in December)
- Lexus LX 470 (current vehicle)

i've had a license for almost 15 years. it's been valid for about 7 of those 15 years. i get it back on thursday(knock, knock). i can drive a stick. i've owned too many cars to list but my favorites were my '67 Camaro and '66 Chevelle. i now drive a hyundai elantra with 250,000 miles on it, 10 more payments and she's all mine. The fastest I have gone is 140mph on my Zx7r. Hopefully, i will grow some balls and take it up to its claimed 165mph top speed.
edit: The furthest i've driven was down to fls., several times.

I was 16 when I first started driving.
I have owned, A 85 Chevy Spectrum(first car and was a stick),84 Buick Regal (was the first grand national) 88 Old's Cutlas Supream International, and a 94 Cougar. Also had a Kawasaki Vulcan at one time.
The fastest car I have ever driven was a 88 Mustang GT that did low 10's in the quarter mile.
Biggest was a 22 foot straight truck, I worked for Bud for 4 years.

I'd have to say the longest in-state roadtrip I've done in one night is Princeton-Emerson-Wallington-Atlantic City-Emerson-Princeton in one night.
My cars:
87 Buick Park Avenue
94 Dodge Intrepid
97 Dodge Ram 1500
00 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Off-Road
Biggest thing I've driven: Hummer.
Can't drive stick. Left handed + ADD = BAD BAD idea.

I started driving when I was 20, got my license the same year, on my very first try.
The farthest I've ever driven by myself was either to Latrobe, PA to see the Rolling Rock Town Fair, or to Massachusetts all by my lonesome.
I've never driven a fast car and I don't know how to drive stick.
I've driven:
1965 Ford Mustang (when I was 16 and went maybe 5 mph)
1989 Ford Taurus
1995 Plymouth something (my driver's ed car)
1996 Pontiac Grand Am
1990 Mazda 626
1993 Chevy Geo
2000 Mazda 626
2001 Mazda Protege :loveya:
2001 Dodge Neon
Oh no we took it back to far
Only love can save us now.....

I learned to drive at 16, got my license at 17. My first car was a 95 maxima, I now drive a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The farthest i've driven is Maryland to visit friends from school, and on the way back from there i hit 100 in my jeep on I-95 in delaware...amazed i didn't get nailed for it though. Thats the fastest i've gone
I will touch the sun or I will die trying.
