I dunno , all I know is that the JoS kooks say that you can speak to demons, meanwhile there is some Xtian preacher I seen on youtube that swears that he actually knows jesus and speaks to him. The latter claims he was somehow selected by god to be saved and that's the way it works. He says that there are a few handful of people that god chooses to save and the rest of us are inherently satanic and will ultimately be burned. Regardless of what you do it's just a matter of whether or not god "likes" you and decides he wants to make you part of the gang. No rhyme or reason for it, just a seemingly random selection process by his own standard.

Lavey is a complete fraud. He didn't "write" any of his shit. He plagerised or otherwise adapted all of his positions from other areas, like Objectivism.
His backstory is completly fabricated. He's like Marilyn Manson's character.

Lavey was a entreprenuer more than a religious leader. he packaged Satanism, adapted it to his advantage and sold it. He was very straight forward about it all though. I wouldn't say he was a fraud. He was completely transparent as to his intentions and philosophy. But don't take it from me:
