Billy Crystal was not funny on SNL, this is about when they were on SNL.
Crystal was on during the dark years when Lorne Michaels had left the show and most of the original cast was gone. It didn't bounce back till Eddie Murphy arrived and pretty much single handed saved the show, then Lorne eventually returned.

Crystal had a couple of bits, but over all wasnt as good as some others;
and in typical SNL style they beat them to death.
Crystal: Cosell, "I hate when that happens", Fernando ("Better to look good..."), old black guy, etc.
And Kattan is an awful hack.
