I would like to take a moment to point out that a bowling alley can't be considered to be a quality bowling alley UNLESS it contains the following:
Lanes
Pins
Balls
Shoes
A cheesey grill for snacks
a bar
a jukebox
an arcade with at least 1 modern fighter, 1 quality pinball, one adequate racer or shooter, and 5 broken games.

our choices in manhattan are:
chelsea piers which has "extreme bowling" on friday and saturday nights which is $8 per game plus $4.50 for shoes.
bowlmor lanes, $6.95 plus $4 for shoes, but there may be the 21+ issue
and port authority, $5.25 and $3.50
these are all rates per game per person, i haven't been to any of them, so i don't know how good they are. or how current the website is. once we have a rough idea of how many people we have, we can call for group rates.
apperently hoboken doesn't have a bowling alley, although they do have a cricket club :thumbs-up:
