Tipping - Why & Who
#21
what about christmas tips?

mailman= $20
Garbagemen=$10 (They did not pick up my garbage 3x this year)

At full service gas stations I usually pump my own gas because they are 2 fucking lazy to get up and do it. Of course when I do it, they come running over. I tip at bars, restaurants, barber and at other places if I have spare change I don't need at the time I'll throw it in.

cow tipping
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.

That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.

I learned from a buddy that if you tip the bartender like 5-10 bucks for the first drink, he/she will remember you. For the rest of the night they will hook you up and you can leave $1 tips.

I had dinner in a restaurant recently where the waiter told my woman that her dinner came with certain side dishes that were not on her plate when she received her meal, took the bread off our table and delivered it to a table across the restaurant (I watched him do this, and decided asking for a fresh bread might not be so fresh), and other things of the ilk. The only thing he got right was the free refills on my soda.

So when this unsanitary, absent-minded jackass brought me the check, I tipped him 10%.

If the service sucks, why should this guy get a good tip? Tips is an acronym for "To Insure Prompt Service," so do it right or don't get one.

In the town I live in, it is against the law to pump your own gas. I always tip the guy $1. Waitstaff always gets at least 20%, more if they are good or if it is a very large group of us. I think the right ettiquette is to tip anyone who provides you with any type of service.

I forgot that my family also tips the supers in our building, the mailman, and when we were little, we'd always tip the camp counselors.

If the service is terrible, I don't tip at all. I did it once at this place in the Seaport. I don't HAVE to leave a tip if the waitstaff doesn't do their job.

resturants, 15-20%, 10 if they suck. the only other time i tip is delivery people, and for them i usually just round up to the nearest 5 or 10 as long as it nets them at least $3

No, I lessened his tip by 50%. I would have given 20% if the service was decent. 10% is 50% of 20%.

if the service sucks why tip at all? so if something is crappy you only give him some of the tip instead of all? thats showing them who's boss allright!
