Quote:make an educated opinion.
I believe the decision to go to war with Iraq was made a long time ago. Everything is in place now and it's a go later this month or next month.
Do I think it's right? No. Do I think it's really about oil, maybe.
Is Saddam a major threat, yes.
Should we put our people at risk for this or any other "peace action", Hell no. We should really move all of our troops back to the good old USA and worry about ourselves only.
Fuck the UN and the rest of the world. Protect ourselves first and foremost. Will it ever happen, not in my life time.
The growing "War on Terror" is just another excuse to take more of our God given rights and flush them down the crapper. Bush and "company" (including his daddy) have been doing the same shit for a long time.
I really would like to see a return to Constitutional Rule of Law and not this out of control mess that it has become.

The constitution is working. Congress gave Bush the authority to go to war with Iraq. We voted into office the people that made that decision. Democracy in action.
And we shouldn't be going to war against Iraq. But we will and we will create a bigger problem for us to face in the future for doing this. There will be another 9/11 for our actions a month from now.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that.

Sad but true. Dirty nuke, more biological, or suicide bombers? Very possible. The worst is yet to come.

Fair enough. But in all my years, I have yet to see where it hasn't.

Come on, you've been around since it was written. Are you telling me we had more government back then or now?

What in the constitution limits the amount of government that we are supposed to have. If I recall, all we have is the administrative, legislative, exutive and judicial branches. I don't believe the constitution has a limit on how big they can be.

its not the constitution that isnt working, its the voters. that the worlds largest democracy has the lowest voter turnout percentage is obscene. a small minority make all of the decisions in this country because they are the ones who vote. and its usually people with very extreme agendas that vote. no one to blame but ourselves

That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.

Last time I read the Constitution there were only suppose to be three branches. Legislative, executive and judicial. With checks and balances on them all.
The Bill of Rights limits government, not the other way around. We the people were granted these rights by our Creator.
Since the Civil war the Federal Government has used it's illegally gained power to increase in size and power.
The First Amendment is on life support. The Second no longer exists. (It was to keep government from becoming the tyrannically mess it is.) The Fourth is gone. The Fifth is going. The Tenth is also long gone.
And for the record it's not a Democracy, it's a Representative Republic.

Why is it all bureaucrats believe that they have power?

Administrative came about after the creation of the IRS. Even though the IRS falls under the Executive branch, under the treasury department, congress passed a law to seperate the IRS from direct control of the President and the courts. Even though administrative is not a true fourth branch of government, it does fall outside of the norm and for good reason. Remeber, a constitutional convention could not be called to give the IRS and the administrative branch of our government a constitutional change because it is still a temporary taxing agency. Income tax is only a temporary tax.
