I've been on vacation all week, so yes I have too much time on my hands.

CDIH is my homepage. I read it all the time, but seldom find a post that moves me enough to actually reply.

Finally, this whole "we vote on everything" concept is full of shit. One person owns the board and that person actually makes the decisions. Since that person appears to be different to the name that is listed as the registrar of the URL, I asked the question.

You are full of shit. Seriously.

It's not like we gather at the round table and vote Yay or Nay in our pin stripe suits and flashy ties, but everything gets discussed in one way or another. Whether it be in IMs, chat, or in the mod forum, everybody contributes some input or feelings on the given situation. If a mod/admin is not around we hold off on final decisions until we get a majority response. There's nothing more to it despite what your prexisting internet insecurities might tell you.

It's not that hard to run a message board.

So, what you're telling me is that if I wanted to invest some money in advertising on this board that you would vote on it? I think not.

At this point I could go into a dissertation about how my history here should warrant me a certain level of respect, but it would certainly fall on deaf ears. I could respond to arpi with some heartfelt diatribe about how sad his life truly is. But, I just don't care enough about him to bother.

My question was not answered in any form. Maybe a question I never asked about who moderates this board was answered, but my question about who is running this place was not answered. That aside...

Every Tom, Dick and Harry has piped up with their fucking opinion on shit that really has fuck all to do with them. I've got a bunch of people I don't know telling me the ins and outs of this place? True, I am not "in the circle", but I really never was and I still knew what was happening.

I stand accused of being a mere shell of my former self by someone who has never even spoken to me, let alone known me?

This board has been opened to the public and yet there is no influx of new members. Gee, I wonder why?

There was a conversation had during the creation of this board that it should be avoided at all costs that the board become an inside joke or some sort of elite community where nobody could post. I guess that theory was a bit naive because of the group of people that have remained active here and on ymb.

And last I checked, we didn't have to run every facet of the board by you, so that youd "know what was going on".

Whats the difference between moderating and "running this place"??? Are you asking who owns this place? The domain is owned by Gonzo but many people have contributed in keeping it financially afloat. Some more than others, who may or may not wish to be named but for whom we are enormously greatful.

I hope I have answered your question, if not maybe you need to clarify what you mean by "running this place". All the moderators and admins do their part to keep this place running smoothly and pretty much everything is discussed with everyone, including members, as well.

In a sense, everyone on this board has a part in "running this place".
