Re: Let's talk science - Mad Dog - 05-19-2009

I thought that methane, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, helium and argon all mixed together to make a nice chocolately drink?

Re: Let's talk science - Titan! - 05-20-2009

This may be an unfair stereotype, but I look down on people that purposely use "teh". Unless it involves cheezburgers or buckets.

Only time I might use "teh" is when my fingers aren't as fast as my brain is. But that seems to happen a lot.

Hey Missy, for an interesting story, check your PM's!

Re: Let's talk science - Philly Mike - 06-10-2009

can science be considered a religion???

Re: Let's talk science - Torque - 06-10-2009

I'm not sure. Since all religions are differently, I'll have to use one, Christianity, as an example and make this VERY generalized: faith in the absence of proof. Science, on the otherhand: is the quest for truths and establishment of laws. They may seem diametrically opposed, but you have to have faith in something initially in science during experimentation and hypothesis. Its just usually something more concrete than an almighty floating being.

Re: Let's talk science - potthole - 06-11-2009

Don't know a whole lot about it, but there does happen to be the religion called Christian Science. Again, don't know jack about it, but just based off of the name, I would guess they have some form of "science" as a major pillar of their beliefs.

christian scientists try to make scientific sense of the christian religion, I know they don't believe in medicine at least... i think.

Science isn't really believing though because a theory is claimed to be just a theory and not a true belief by the person pursuing to prove it. The reason i asked is because someone was trying to say i can't be an athiest if i believe science can be fact .

Even when used properly such as "Jason Grilli = teh suck"?

Re: Let's talk science - Torque - 06-11-2009

That is appropriate usage, but still irks me.

Me too. Grilli was awful. Biff, how dare you bring up his name!

Untill I read this thread, I've never heard of "teh" as any kind of a word. WTF does it mean?

Re: Let's talk science - MissyT - 06-13-2009

here's an example. And it's a typo of "the", like the typo "pwned".

what teh hell do you mean you don't know what "teh" means. I thought since teh rise of teh internet everyone knew what "teh" meant. Maybe you should look "teh" up in teh search engine google, or try to see if you can see teh word "teh" ever used anywhere else. If that's teh case you may get teh point.

**sorry torque Smile **
