| If somebody likes O & A ( I do), then you have to LOVE Stern. He is the majors. They are a sometime amusing farm team. The idea they are plowing new territory is ridiculous. Really if they were THAT good wouldn't they be more happening by now? Or are you using that tired argument that they are oppressed by the 'man' holding them back?

Yes, he has gotten tired, but until somebody on radio finds a better way to deliver that 'tired' old material, he will be the guy that recreated the format. It isn't about who thought of it first, it is about what they do with it. O & A will always be in the position of being the guys who followed in his footsteps. Unless of course, they reinvent the wheel. So far it ain't happening. And by the way it's only half that team really brings anything to the table. Anthony has his own 'Robin'. :-p

All of that is bull. The only reason that Steve wasn't as successful as Howard was because he had a bad drinking/coke problem. Some of his best shows he did during that time where done when he was trashed. He only sobered up about six years ago. Every time he would get a good syndication deal(pre sobering up)he would do something stupid and get himself fired, and the only reason that he's not syndicated now is because he chooses not to be. Steve Dahl is ten times better than Howard ever was.

Dahl has always been a big fat pussy when it comes to taking what he dishes out. So fatso pulled the plug on his own show. Smart move. I bet you're a fan of his wife too. And how smart is it to blow every chance you get to further your career because you're a total wastoid? Or a hypocrite. He's a big fat choker. Always chokes in the clutch. And he's STILL four hundred pounds.
And btw, where did I even bring up the subject of why "Dahl was not as successful as Howard" anyway? It's not even in the post. I was talking about the START of their careers.

Here is more Stern Dribble. AS long as your are teaching a class, don't leave the little buggers dumber then you found them. I have never heard anything about Howard in the newspaper. I usually LISTEN to him on the radio and sometimes READ about him in the paper. But since you have for some reason determined that the frequency of his name being mentioned in the paper is a measure of his talent, I admit I have not read much lately. His talent must be on the wane. But I have never,ever read anything in the paper about O/A. Oops!. No talent at all? Not really. You just have to be noticed because you bring something new to the arena or have something new or interesting to say. They havn't, so there is not much to say about them.
Ok, but I was wrong to generalize. Just because you like O and A you don't have to love Howard. It's like saying just because you like Spam you would have to love NY Strip steak. These is no new rule so don't get you panties in a knot.:)

Comparing Opie to Robin is just pure ignorance on your part...Opie does more than just sit there, laugh at a few dumb jokes and read a newspaper, he runs the board while Anthony entertains people....Anthony would not work without Opie, want proof, I'm sure you can find a copy of the show when Opie was out sick somewhere...It may not seem like it, but Opie brings a hell of alot to the show, far more than someone who simply reads the latest news.

If you wanted to compare which of the two shows has been in he news more often over these last few months, then O&A win....There was a little incident featured quite prominently on the news about a caller who claimed to have committed murders long ago, then of course there is the recent fine by the FCC, which I happened to read in the papers, and who can forget the incidents with Korn and Eminem?

1. Howard is an out of date, washed up thief who long ago ran out of steam and good ideas. The best thing that will happen to the radio industry is when he retires in a couple of years and all those faggots he has working for him will be out on the street.
2. O&A, as loyal as I am, would not be able to do their show today if it wasn't for the pioneering efforts of Stern. Stern did not invent shock radio but, love him or hate him, he streamlined genre for the mainstream. So, in a way, he did invent shock radio.
Why do we still have to debate this shit?
