trailer 2, "Mystery" looks much better than breather teaser. Looks dark, somewhat like Empire Strikes back.

I found this link to download
Ep II-mystery trailer in mpg format,
http://www.starwarsonline.co.uk/video.htm
remember, original is a quicktime 5.02; this is a conversion.
I also understand if you search KaZaa or Morpheus and search for "star wars mystery"... plenty of
copies being shared.

If you go to http://www.swmovies.net , they have a shot by shot description.

warning: Lucas has forced swmovies.net to remove pictures; it is just a verbal description.

And how bad-ass does Boba Fett look in the trailer? NICE!

Okay, here's the unfortunate thing, and I know there was talk of this and all and it's probably already known, but was anyone else COMPLETELY disturbed to see that Jar Jar Binks is returning?

FUCK! What a way to ruin what looks like a pretty cool movie.

What is Lucas thinking? Doesn't he know that stupid thing roons the movie?

Anyway, I'll go see this numerous times just for some good Boba Fett material... and I guess this is where Anakin gets the F on with Amadala and spits out Luke and Leia?

i dont think thats bobba fett, i believe its jango fett

from theforce.net
Jango Fett - Bounty Hunter
Actor: Temeura Morrison
The original warrior that the clones in Episode II are made from. Wearing a blue and silver version of Boba Fett's Mandalorian armor, Jango Fett is more than a match for Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, or any other Jedi that may cross his path. He works for Count Dooku in this film.

Lucas admitted immediately after the first release that Jar Jar would be in the next two so I wasn't surprised. However, if you noticed, tehre was only one shot of him and that was from the back

I can deal with him if its a small part;
Episode 1 laid foundation & new characters; episode 2 needs to move the plot along.

Supposedly Binks is only in it for like 10 minutes. What I'm really lookin for is to see some Yoda lightsaber action.

You know he's a badass.

They had one of those RotJ speederbikes in the 3rd trailer. I'd like to see this one in a theater. I still say second might be better but this one was pretty cool too. Also, no Jar Jar.

EDIT: And Natalie Portman, super hot and I liked the use of the Luke/Leia love theme.

Boy Whackbag, you are on top of the situation;
I the following email was sent to me at 12:53 am; I see you had already posted a link shortly after.
:)

anyway, for those of you too lazy to go to the link (or if you are at work and don't want anyone to hear the trailer), here is the description from starwars.com

quote:

Tonight, fans will be afforded their third glimpse of Episode II footage, as the full teaser trailer for Attack of the Clones becomes available on starwars.com. The teaser trailer is also playing theatrically in front of screenings of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

This trailer deals with choosing between emotion and duty, obligation and desire. Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala are at a crucial juncture in their lives, each devoted to an institution of greater purpose -- for him, the Jedi order; for her, the Republic.

"In this one, we're really focusing on one of the major themes of the film -- the love story between Anakin and Padmé," says Lucasfilm's VP of Marketing, Jim Ward. "I think people will be able to see that it is a true love story set against a galaxy that's in turmoil. It's also set against the expectations that galaxy has of the roles and responsibilities of a Jedi and a Senator. Now these two are having to confront those realities while falling in love."

The full teaser trailer follows quickly on the heels of "Mystery" and "Breathing," two other previews of Episode II. Clocking in at over two minutes with new footage and new dialogue, the trailer represents the first real look at the Attack of the Clones story.

I just realized that whackbag's clip you need a password but here's the link to the site without a password for the trailerhre
EDIT: Anakin's acting doesn't seem superb but Star Wars has never been much of an acting Series.

To coincide with tonights showing of Ep I on TV (fox), TV guide had an interview with George Lucas. Here are some snippets:

TVG-"The Empire Strikes Back" was the second act in a three-act story. By its very nature it was darker. Can we expect that of "Episode II- Attack of the Clones"?

Lucas- What happens, I'm afraid, is that this one does get a little darker. "Episode III" (scheduled for release in 2005) is the darkest of them all.

TVG - Can you describe the feeling we'll have in the lobby after seeing "Episode II"?

Lucas - It's a complicated story - a love story and a progression of events. It's not overwhelmingly upbeat, although some good things do happen. But there are a lot of evil things hanging, a lot of portents of things to come.

He (Lucas) then says that episodes VII-IX are highly unlikely - it was more of a media thing then him.

Yeah, I just checked out the trailer, and although I do agree with Anthony's assessment that it looks like Titanic in the stars...

I dunno, it might just be naive of me, but I have faith in George Lucas. Even though it was heaped full of "mushy" scenes this trailer made me psyched to want to see the movie!

Natalie Portman - TOTALLY hot!

Jango Fett or whoever Fett - looking badass. Speeder bikes, dark themes, Samuel L. Jackson again - c'mon, what's not to love?

Meeesa think this movie might be okay!

and here in lies the problem

NO!!! Don't be afraid that this one is darker. Let that be tbhe selling point. be proud, be honored to say "This is a dark fucking movie" don't be 'afraid' that kiddies won't like it or cry. you should get there, get your balls up and say "Ladies and gentleman Attack of the clones is going to be a dark movie. it's going to surprise you that from Jar Jar comes this. if you have 5 year olds they'll be traumatized. And now Star Wars Episode 2 Attack of the Mother Fucking Clones"

I didn't like the romantic half and the pretty grass and the waterfalls but once Duel of the Fates started to play it was cool. and as i mentioned before Speeder Bike geek alert!!

To be fair, he (Lucas) did say that some people consider the dark Empire Strikes Back to be the best movie.

It seems he is trying to walk a line for general audiences and still be true to his story line.

If you look at all of the trailers, or go to some of the speculation story lines, It might be similar to Empire; the love story part is not diffferent than that of Princess Leia and Solo.

******Warning - Spoilers ahead ************

Count Dooku, the "new sith" will be played by Christopher Lee (with all his previous horror movie experience & current Lord of Rings credit) which should be interesting.
Speculation has
Yoda will battle him, although there is question as to whether it is with Light Saber or just the Force. Anakin will seek some vengence for the death of his mother, and will kill some tuskan raiders, possibly a whole village.

These plot lines have some potential

Well, the next trailer will appear on Fox March 10th, and it sounds better than the past news. Now if someone gets to cut off he head of the N'sync guy with a light saber, I'll be happy.

quote:

This Sunday, March 10, the public will get their first look at the full trailer for Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones as it airs on FOX television in America and also is posted to the Official Star Wars website, starwars.com. The trailer will begin playing theatrically on March 15, exclusively with the animated feature Ice Age, and other films thereafter.

"With this trailer, we start to look at the story and the state of the galaxy in Episode II," says Lucasfilm’s VP of Marketing, Jim Ward. "It sets the stage for what’s about to happen and how the characters are involved. We find out that the Republic is on the brink of war, and the Jedi are overburdened in trying to hold everything together."

The two-and-a-half minute trailer culminates with glimpses of some of the largest action sequences ever found in a Star Wars movie. Entitled "Clone War," this trailer begins to lift the veils of secrecy surrounding the mysterious Clone Wars first mentioned -- but never elaborated upon -- in the original A New Hope in 1977.

"In Episode II, we’re going to see the Jedi in action like we’ve never seen them before," says Ward. "We’re going to see hundreds of Jedi, hundreds of lightsabers, thousands of clones, in a huge battle. The trailer gives just a hint of what’s to come."

The trailer airs on FOX this Sunday between original episodes of "Malcolm in the Middle" (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) and "The X-Files" (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

Hundreds in a huge battle? that is what I want to see.

read the dark horizons trailer info - much better.
Lots of action, lots of foreboding.

Best comment it that it resembles Empire Strikes Back.

I just saw it, as I'm sure a lot of you did as well. Looks like there's a lot of action, but I hate the over-abundance of CGI, green-screening, and the false political mumbo jumbo dialogue. Just make the damn thing fun! The original trilogy was great because the environments looked real, and the storylines were simple. The use of miniatures and animatronics may be harder to construct, more expensive, and more time consuming nowadays, but they made for a more realistic experience, and an overall better film. The worlds in Episode II appear fake. The whole damn thing just looks like one big elaborate cartoon. :(

i wasn't impressed. I guess I need to see it again to be wowed but I wasn't paying much attention.

I definitely agree that models/puppets/miniatures look far better than CGI (case in point Jabba from Jedi V Jabba from Phantom).
