Who said post counts are important? I haven't seen anyone (except you) talk about post counts in a very long time.

Most people here don't give a shit about post counts. So, I have more posts than you. So, other people have more posts than me. Who cares?

An asshole with 10 posts or an asshole with 10,000 posts is still an asshole no matter how you look at it.

And the same holds true for good posters. Some of the best posts on this board have come from people with lower post counts. I, for one, don't give a shit how many you have.

Sorry, deek. I'm at work. Had a few things to do. I know I suggested that you start another thread to discuss this. But, by the time I got to it, my argument apears to have been made already.

There have occasionally been issues about ppl with low post counts being picked on by ppl with high post counts. Every time this comes up, it's because someone that has no fuckin' idea what they're talking about starts it.

My favorite instance is when Opie talked about it on the show about a year and a half ago. Opie NEVER posts here. He may read the board but, I doubt it. He has no clue. He was just repeating things that he had heard. I don't want this to turn into a bash Opie thing. That's really not my point.

But, it seems to be happening WAY too often around here that people talk shit in an effort to make themselve's apear that they know more than they really do or that they are more important than they really are.

and, now... The reason that having a post count under everyone's name is good:

It's probably not. And, if it was never there it would probably make this a better message board. But, it is there. It's always been there. Take it away now and there will be all kinds of bullshit about where it went and why.

And, like froy said, to reset everyone will just inspire mass post whoring.

and, when I say you of all people...

Have you made many friends here? Have you been getting a positive response to any of your opinions? You are obviously not in agreement with the majority of the board. Is that fare? nope. Do I care? nope. But, the fact that you think everyone needs to have your imput on every subject is getting really effin annoying.

Try picking your battles a little more carefully. If you go off on every subject like a fuckin' idiot, people are gonna start thinking you are an idiot. And, your opinion will not be respected no matter how many posts you have.

I dont' care about my post count. And yes when I started posting on this board, I was being accused of padding my post count. So that othe guy must have missed all thsoe posts, since there was IN FACT discussion about it that I did not initiate.

Now, I say I do not care abotu my post count. I do not. But I do care that other people make a big deal about it. See? Do you understand my point?

I didn' tbother to read the rest of your post after that line, since I wanted to respond first. And hopefully shed some light into what you have assumed is one way, but is totally another.

That pursuit is what took America from the revolution to the computer age in 200 years. But the progress has come at a price. The obvious being the people that were exploited to make it possible; the not so obvious being us, the first group of people that were given no obvious frontiers to conquer. We hear stories that about the good old days that don't seem to apply anymore. It's a generation gap that leaves us without role models. But the bright side is that without role models, there are no roles. Maybe that's what the 60s were all about -- getting rid of the roles. But what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, the choices become overwhelming. Sometimes it just makes everything feel hopeless. So we destroy our bodies in the search of an ideal. Try to salvage relationships that don't work. We feel we must do something, instead of doing something that we feel. It is the prison of self-imposed momentum, and the sad part is that we get used to it. It reminds me of a song I heard the other day. It's called "The Going Nowhere Fast." But the people I have met here have shown me another side of Nowhere. They've pointed out the beautiful irony that stagnation makes it easy to stop and smell the roses, if we just let it. What would we be if we had nothing to rebel against? Well we could finally be ourselves, the first group of people who stopped looking for the answers long enough to appreciate the questions. And all we have to do is to make our own Declaration of Independence. We can embrace the right to life and liberty by simply realizing that happiness exists -- not to pursue, but to accept. After that the only challenge would be to make sure with the rest of our lives that we weren't just another fad. I don't know, it's an idea. What do you think?

The obvious being the people that were exploited to make it possible; the not so obvious being us, the first group of people that were given no obvious frontiers to conquer. We hear stories that about the good old days that don't seem to apply anymore. It's a generation gap that leaves us without role models. But the bright side is that without role models, there are no roles. Maybe that's what the 60s were all about -- getting rid of the roles. But what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, the choices become overwhelming. Sometimes it just makes everything feel hopeless. So we destroy our bodies in the search of an ideal. Try to salvage relationships that don't work. We feel we must do something, instead of doing something that we feel. It is the prison of self-imposed momentum, and the sad part is that we get used to it. It reminds me of a song I heard the other day. It's called "The Going Nowhere Fast." But the people I have met here have shown me another side of Nowhere. They've pointed out the beautiful irony that stagnation makes it easy to stop and smell the roses, if we just let it. What would we be if we had nothing to rebel against? Well we could finally be ourselves, the first group of people who stopped looking for the answers long enough to appreciate the questions. And all we have to do is to make our own Declaration of Independence. We can embrace the right to life and liberty by simply realizing that happiness exists -- not to pursue, but to accept. After that the only challenge would be to make sure with the rest of our lives that we weren't just another fad. I don't know, it's an idea. What do you think?
