| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70  | Last night I went into the chat room, and found like 20 people in there. Meanwhile, the board is fucking dead. What gives here people? Is the board to slow for you? I've not seen so little activity on the board since I've been a member here (admittedly not since its inception). I just wonder if people actually like chatting more than they like posting on the board? If this keeps up, I may have to find another hobby to whittle time in my pathetic excuse for a life.

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | like ferret said, the conversation can be a lot of stuff you wouldn't post.if most of the people in chat are watching the same tv show, you might not make a thread, but in chat theres constant line quoting whnever somebody is funy.chat lets you make fun of cls or foundry music joker for hours on end without wasting the time of hitting reply before typing, or waiting for their response.also, occaisionaly banned members of the board, like mav, will come in through foundry and we can yell at them, too.kid, if you don't like chat, DON'T COME IN.on nights when you just pop in for a few seconds it gets really annoying to some of the chat regualars(not me...i couldn't care less).for a really good answer, you'll have to ask somebody who'se ALWAYS in there, like brodie and jumper, or maybe jj thanks to fez for the pic | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | There has been a chat area and feature since I started on this board in October. It's always been, and get this one, A CHOICE. Posting is different from chat. Perhaps you have forgotten the difference. The fact that alot of posts have become chat threads can be an argument to the opposite opinion that you are making Kid. Chats are throw aways...nothing really said of great value. It's a little social avenue and immediacy a la the internet. Posts are statements and information to be chewed on, and take more time for interaction...but here's the key word: INTERACTION. Both posts and chat lets us O&A fans interact...thus the function of the board is made either way. You can choose to post. You can choose to chat. This board provides a place of O&A fans to interact, and having both meets those goals.  | ||||

It was gone for sometime actually. I admit I missed the days of voice chat. But, my point here was only to question what people liked about it so much. I'm not asking anyone to stop going there, just posing a question and stating my opinion on the matter. I realize that I can not make or break the chat. I also realize that it is not up to me to decide. I've just noticed, as I stated previously that there are a lot of people in chat sometimes, and nobody posting on the board. Seems to me that when there was no chat there were a lot more people posting. I do, however, agree that the season has some bearing on it. I don't mean to insult anyone that enjoys the chat, I enjoy it sometimes too. Just not as much as I enjoy the board.
