trust me, nobody wants to talk about what i do.

What do you do?

i would wanna talk about it if i knew about it, im always up for a good conversation.

do you remember that silly little blackout the US had last year? well, my company is one of the companies working on making sure that never happens again. We remotely control emergency generators (like at supermarkets, waste control plants, etc) and run them whenever the energy grid is stressed. this offloads the strain on the grid and prevents a blackout.

I write the software that supports it.

i think thats really awesome. is something like that pretty stressful?

just for the month of may. basically all of our software needs to be done for june when things start to get hot.

damn. so thats why youve been working all those crazy hours. after you work on this, what other kinds of things do you work on?

So if there's another blackout we can all kick your ass?

there certainly isn't a shortage of stuff for me to work on. Plus there is always the task of taking the stuff i've already written and making it cleaner, faster and prettier.

that all nighter i did saved us probably a couple hundred g's of lost revenue. sometimes you need to just buckle down and get the shit done.

we don't do much business in your area just yet. We have about 30 pathmark stores under our belt, but our breadbasket it southwest connecticut.
